Article: Comebacks of singers, April -> May -> June 'longterm postponement'

Source: Ilgan Sports via Naver

1. [+536, -13] I feel bad for everyone.. ã… ã…  All of Korea is suffering because of the captain...

2. [+544, -28] Unfortunate situation for Block B and EXO considering they've already released their music videos so people have already heard of the song but it's not being released digital and they can't promote it... They could've postponed the comeback altogether had they not released anything. I guess this is farewell to their albums this time..

3. [+371, -14] Singers with names will make it through somehow but there's nothing that can be done for rookie singers

4. [+184, -13] Yes, it's getting longer...

5. [+85, -6] Feel bad for Akdong Musician or A Pink who only promoted a week;; an album's not something you can release any time you want, it's something that is worked on and produced over such a long time

6. [+86 ,-11] Costs so much to release one album... A Pink is finally earning the rewards of three years of hard work but such an unfortunate accident had to happen, canceling their miniconcert and fan meets. Akdong Musician are rookies as well who a lot of people looked forward to. Block B's music video and album came out at an awkward time too and haven't even been able to release anything digitally. All because of the captain...

7. [+81, -12] I don't know why only the music and variety industry are holding everything back. Dramas shouldn't be running, movies shouldn't be released, and the world cup shouldn't be relayed at this rate.

8. [+66, -1] Blame the captain...

9. [+64, -4] I think people should just comeback in May. I want good songs to come out and give some hope to our depressed country... There are plenty of singers who don't promote on music shows anyway.

10. [+42, -2] But we can't be depressed every single day..

11. [+43, -4] I think mourning should be a choose. Everyone's forcing people to mourn... Whether a comeback does well or not, I don't think it's right to not even allow them to comeback.

This seems like it's going way too far... :/

i think that's being sarcastic though

Cancelling so many shows and comebacks most likely isn't what the industry wants, since so much money is being lost. However despite a minority of people (like the knetz on this article) wanting things to continue, this move is actually supported by the vast majority of Koreans. Who at the end of the day, are the people that really count.

Delaying past the first week of May would be too far, quite frankly. Idols and musicians are not the only ones who get affected by this. Those who work for living as backstage crew and whatnot are also impacted by this and need the money to support themselves. A good two-three weeks max is, IMO, enough time for mourning. After then, the country has to shoulder through the pain together. Life does not stop and wait around for others. It keeps moving on. And no one should put the lives of others at a standstill for over almost a month...

Anything past 3wks is just pushing it.

I honestly think a week or two is long enough. I understand that it's a national tragedy but idols and ppl at the broadcast stations have jobs too.

And pushing back a comeback to a different month can effect the concept of that artist wanted to put out. I understand that their families need time to mourn but that shouldn't make everyone else's lives stop.

I wonder if World Cup wont be broadcasted in SK, since they probably will still be in the mourning state
