Is it harder today to chart on Melon than it was 2-3 years ago?

I remember 2-3 years ago almost every nugu gg made it at least for a few hours on Melon top 100

Now I always see that they made some changes with the Melon chart so I'm asking myself is this the reason why not many groups are charting better?

CLC, DIA, Stellar, Hello Venus, April etc all of them charted before but their recent released almost never chart

It's really hard to chart nowadays. Onto a similar subject, MOMOLAND is actually really on the rise though, they debuted top 100 on 91 I think but it's even more impressive that they've managed to rechart in the top 100 today. They were like number 50 something but now they're 62. Always thought Pristin, Gugudan, WJSN, WekiMeki and DIA had the highest chance to get popular but MOMOLAND cut in line. Their youtube views are really high too Koreans love Nancy and Yeonwoo

Larger number of groups, I'd say. The market is way oversaturated.

if i remember correctly the changes were made towards big fandoms cause they would line up the whole album at midnight, time were most songs were released while the gp is sleeping and stuff so they felt like obviously its not a good representation of the charts, so a song will not chart whithin the midnight to morning hours until 1pm where will finally enter the charts.

 

Sorry for the long post but what i said basically is that while this was directed to big fandoms it affected small fandoms too since in between those hours they had the little time to at least make their faves chart for a while and if they got lucky stay in the top100

i think its both unless if you have a very big fandom. Even groups from big 3 are now struggling to top the chart (ex. ikon, nct, got7) unlike before. I would say that it would always comes with the song itself, not which group sang it whatsoever.

Before the chart reform most idol groups enter the chart in the middle of the night when people sleep...

Small fandom can do that, they can make a song enter top 20 or even top 10 if group with big fandom isn't having comeback.
