calling all christian oh-ers

Just here to ask some questions! Like a casual survey I guess.

1. How do you feel being a theist in a website made largely of non-theists?

2. Does your faith ever make you feel polarized?

3. Does your faith impact groups you stan/follow and or how you go about kpop as a hobby?

Non-Christian theists are welcome weigh in too!

Well I am a lot older than the average OH user and I have spent a lot, and I mean A LOT, of time on message boards in my life, many of them for religious discussion. So, it doesn't bother me at all. I am super strong in my beliefs so the opinions of others do not bother me.

As for being a fan, I always try to make sure I am not filling my mind with bad lyrics and that I do not obsess about idols to the point that they are real idols. Also, I think it is really cute/awesome when I see groups like Monsta X going out to eat and some of the members pray before eating.

3. No, I don't seek out Christians in K-POP but most of the idols I stan are actually Christian or Catholic so I think it's nice~

1. It doesn't bother me one bit. I don't judge people based on their beliefs, or lack of.

2. Nope, plus I tend to stay out of anything religious related on public forums, cause I know it can get messy.

3. Not really, I don't really expect it to. People are different and believe different things. That's just how it is.

1. The same I feel anywhere else

2. Maybe, not here tho

3. Yes! Tbh I tend to stan those who are religious, not deliberately but It’s usually that I get interested in some idols because of their personalities and then I find out about their religion. I do feel like it makes me like them more tho, eg Taemin Chen Yoona and a long time back Eric from Shinhwa. They’re not perfect but I feel like it influences their behaviour and the way they carry themselves.

I don’t know for some reason I feel like there is a huge representation of Christians in Kpop and that was why I also felt more comfortable stanning kpop. I don’t know why’s that.

Just curious OP, are you open about LGBT? Im honestly used to be quite religious, but then almost all religion condone LGBT which I'm myself so I pretty much atheist but still followed around to religious places if Im forced to unless I managed to somehow escape.

It’s a tricky question for me as I’ve always struggled with my sexuality. I couldn’t give you a competent answer in the five minutes before I go to sleep. But the short answer is I know what the Bible says I’m just not sure what I think.

1. Hmm normal I guess. Maybe because most of the people I interact with are quite respectful of others, and I don't necessarily participate in most religious discussions anyways. This is a kpop forum so I'm not obliged to defend my honor as a Christian, per se. It does hurt a bit if I see posts putting all Christians in a box. We're not all crazy about converting the world into the "true religion of the one and only God" you know?

2. At times yes. I might be Christian but I have my own way of believing now that I'm older, however this doesn't mean I'd avoided thinking, what would my pastor have said? Would my parents have shaken their heads in disapproval? Those thoughts can still consume me, but I do try to keep my thoughts focused on what I believe an all-loving God would want. (hope I made sense lol even I confuse myself sometimes)

3. In some ways, usually with how I stan/choose my biases. It's not that I'd pick Christians only, but I'd pick persons who I view have their hearts in the right place.
