My first celebrity husband released a BOP for the first time in years

Back in 1997, 5 year old me fell in love with Aaron Carter. Like psycho, we're going to get married love, thanks to this bop.

and then Crush On You cemented that love

I remember arguing in reception over him, telling my friends that they could have his older brother Nick from the Back Street Boys.

Although my love for him waned over the years, he always pops back up with a bop and I fall back in love.

When I was eight, he returned with this jam.

I Want Candy

When I was twelve, I was getting into arguments about who was better, him or Jesse McCartney, who came out with Beautiful Souls in 2004.

It's been 20 years and Aaron's been through a lot but he finally seems to be catching a break.

In February he released his EP Love and whilst I liked it, I didn't love it and then he got into a ton of drama back in the summer and I was so disappointed but he seems to be back on track now.

in December he released, Don't Say Goodbye and IT IS AMAZING.

I'm hoping that this is the start of a lot of good things for him.

The Carter brothers went through a lot in their career; Nick was able to clean himself up (more or less... he did rape someone after all), but Aaron... after Macaulay Culkin, he's one of the most blatant examples of 90s child star turned complete train wreck. I hope he'll be able to bounce back.

I was never a hard core Nick fan, especially not after their reality tv show, he was so emotionally abusive towards his siblings, especially Aaron. The rape allegation, really didn't surprise me.

I've been rooting for Aaron for YEARS and he's always falling short. He's been through a lot and it's a shame he didn't have more people looking out for him as a kid. Macaulay Culkin seems happy with his life, he's rich af and spends his time in art galleries, chilling with his friends. He doesn't want to ever act again or be famous whereas Aaron has been chasing his 90's level stardom his entire life. He was only 10 when he blew up and he peaked at 13. That has to be rough.

He finally seems to be in a good place, producing music he clearly enjoys. I really hope 2018 is good to him.

Yeah, it's not going to happen. No singer from that era has been able to retain that kind of fame to the present day, not even Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. Justin Timberlake is a partial exception but, even then, the kind of fame he has now is very different from the one he had back then. He and Leonardo DiCaprio are quite similar in this regard, since they successfully transitioned from being wildly popular teen idols to being somewhat less popular but very respected artists.
