:(( or at least I want to take a break. I didnt even study one year yet and im already depressed. Its wayy too hard and demanding and expensive. I thought I would study subjects I like but they gave me some weird and unnecessary classes that I hate so much :'( I used to love going to school but now...not so much

if it's too expensive and you still want to continue studying, transfer to a community college.

It will be a LOT cheaper, and it lets you decide what you want to do.

I'm kinda in the same boat. School is moving by so fast and I have no idea what I want to specialize in second year. It's stressing me tf out. I've decided that if I don't have my shit together by exam time, I just won't enrol next and take a year off to think things through without the added pressure.

Idk if we have that in my country. I need to do some research about this!

I would have to translate it into my language cuz I thing maybe they have a different name for it

take a breather and try getting your gen eds done at a community college, then transfer back when you're ready.

the university life takes some time to get used to, especially with how harsh it can be and if you're straight out of highschool.

take a break and decide what you want to do, there is no shame in doing that. I did it and i'm a lil bit lost but not as lost as i was earlier. It gave me time to sort myself out and keep my sanity. Also, like the above user said, transfer to community, it will be cheaper especially if you feel university is too tough. But this is your first year? You might just be overwhelmed by how different college is vs high school. Whatever you choose, I'm rooting for you and believe in you, sis!

Dude, take a break. You’re just wasting money staying if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Im really thinking about doing that

Do what's best for you, but if you have a mental illness that is preventing you from performing to the best of your ability, take a break. I have a few friends that did that. Just be sure you don't stay in the slump after the break. The break is meant to help you, not hurt you. I have a friend that never went back to school after that. Make sure if you do that you have a plan.

I feel you on so many levels. Even though I finish Univesity last year and got my degree there were so many instants I wanted to give up. I am lucky that my parent paid for my tuition and books. Some class was just so stressful and so much work. It was extremely frustrated during final exam weeks because I have to turn in all these papers and project for different class and also study for the exam.  I did take a 1 one break to go to graduate school.

Taking a break can be good for you and it can help you figure out what it is that you want to do.

you are not alone!

I didnt know what to do but in ours; getting a degree is a must!

so despite not knowing what I wanted, I took several classes, mostly gen req at a ccollege for cheaper price and failed at least 5 of them lmao. thankfully, it was my money I wasted and not anyone else’s so i didnt feel bad too much though it took months for me to move on from failing my courses.

Now im currently living alone, with 2 strangers, goes to unis through busses, only 2 finish a degree I cannot even describe accurately.

it has only been three days but i want to go back home already. I feel out of place but i really just want to have my freakin degree!
