katsu curry chips 7,808 Posted January 5, 2018 Share Posted January 5, 2018 i get the feeling sometimes that the years of training doesn't always matter. we as foreigners go around and hype the trainee system so much, but there doesn't seem to be a guarantee that all trainees have the same experience, + the quality of said training can be super uneven. some probably have the talent and the drive, some might just have the drive, and some probably cruise through/don't have time/resources to focus 100% of their time on it. so hypothetically why would training for years always matter? in fromis 9's case, seems like it doesn't, some of them are obviously rly talented, love seeing this switch up Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

When you look at the beginning of idol school (i'm not talking about the ones who already have been trained), most of them were bad but in just 4 months they improved to be AT LEAST decent in dance and singing and then, the girls in fromis_9 trained maybe a month more and they came up quite good. Their ability to learn (wait no, not to learn, to binge, because that's what they did) all that information and training is pretty amazing and definitely a talent. I would LOVE seeing how haters' favs were doing after just 4 months of training and i'm sure that half of them weren't that good. You know, I have studied music before and I definitely agree with SM (and Yixing) when they say "Talent can be taught". fromis_9 are a proof. Singing and dancing are just techniques after all, and even people who sing really bad can learn how to sing and improve. The girls have potential (and that's why they have been choosed for Idol School, i'm sure about this) and they showed us that hard work can make you "talented" and i'm sure it's not the end, they will be even better in few years and maybe better than some groups that were called "talented" since the beginning, because we don't know their final abilities yet. So yeah, for me, fromis_9 are talented. Not like you would call other groups "talented" but they still have talent and a lot of potential and I can't wait to see what they will give us for their debuts and in the future !
