Why did only the first unit of Loona shoot MVs outside of Korea + do you think the already revealed members started preparation for debut?

So only the first unit shoot so many MVs in Iceland, UK, Japan etc and when the 2nd unit was revealed since then the MVs are taking place in Korea

I'm a bit sad because I was hoping every girl would get her own country / city

 

My theory was that they wanted the first unit to promote a bit outside of Korea because cute isn't that popular as sexy here and ODC did everything in Korea because sexy isn't selling that well there

In my opinion the 3rd and last unit is also in Korea because the debut preparations are already in plan and everyone needs to be there

I'm sure they have already started everything and after the 3rd unit finishes in April they will already have everything prepared and debut in May, otherwise the debut preparation would wait until August or something + I'm doubting Heejin and the girls that were revealed first have nothing to do right now, most probably picking up the concept or something similar

 

That's like my theory and I think it could be true because BBC seems to be very smart and organised

They probably wanted to give each member a lot of unique traits (except country, we had animals and colours) but decided to stop it because a) it was too hard to find an original country for each member or do the recordings there b) the cost was too big + most of MVs has the rest of members in it so it may be tiresome for them (especially if they have other schedules).

Shooting oversea must cost a lot and especially if they want to bring so many girls at the same time. OEC unit first mv was in LA and only the members were there but if they want to complete Loona so I understand that they need all members to interrect during solo project. And the only solution is to stay in Korea. But I think the 3rd unit will also have the opportunity to go abroad for their unit album.

Well. 1st unit concept is countrys. 2nd unit is colors. 3rd unit is apprently fruits. No need to travel (even so, they traveled for Girl Front) when that's not their concept. It also must have costed a fuckton lol

They explained on time that the second sub-unit wasn't going to be about filming in different countries like the first set of girls did and that the MVs were going to be more centered around their colors (yet they did went to the US to film there). For the 3rd unit they have this thing with girls falling/escaping from Eden and plenty of elements about art and more specifically Magritte's surrealist paintings.

 

I don't know if this was planned like this all along or decided to change it halfway through but I believe they could kept filming in different countries if they wanted but instead decided to make the videos more elaborate with better visual effects but anyway, aside from location I feel the quality of them has been the same and of a pretty high standard so I don't mind this change of approach at all.

 

After the pre-debut project the next thing for them is a concert with all their songs (solos, sub-units and full group song) so that's what they're going to prepare next and I think they will rest some time after (maybe a month or more) before starting the full group promotions as the production team and the girls are going to need a break by that time.

Anyways, Heejin's mv wasn't filmed in Paris, only her photobook, basically because it is more practical and cost-cutting. Plus, it's hard to manipulate elements outside of their set if they did it in another country. Also, have you noticed that most of their mv's in another country kind of lacks elements because the transportation itself is expensive (for example, Hyunjin's basically cats and the buildings, Haseul with the huge ass airplane, 1/3 with running in New Zealand and basically just dancing in Hong Kong. Also, 1/3 with shooting a video with them zoomed in with Prague and Hong Kong backgrounds.... it's just not worth it in my opinion)
