Why isn't RBW promoting more Solar as a visual?

I just watched her teaser for the Mamamoo January comeback and she's so stunning!

I am so mad at the company for not promoting her more because she would slay those CFs and photoshoots for sure

 

I know they probably want to be famous only because of their voices but kpop is not just that and if they want to survive as much as possible it would be nice to have a few more options..

There's plenty of girl groups out there who can primarily market themselves through amazing visuals.

 

Mamamoo decided to go a separate route and market themselves through their talents instead. As gorgeous as all four girls are, they don't consider themselves a "visual" group (even though I and several MooMoos beg to differ) and all four of them are most passionate about their growth as artists first and foremost.

 

It's not like Solar is being denied the opportunity; she's always willing to put the longevity and success of the group first (it's why she likely agreed to We Got Married). The girls are generally free to pursue projects and such outside of their activities as Mamamoo (check out Solar's Emotion).

 

Solar showed up on the 2017 Gallup Survey and Mamamoo is still on the rise, so maybe we'll see more of her ascent in 2018.

 

But I don't think Solar will ever be promoted as a "visual" in the traditional sense of the word. Not many visuals are writing their own lyrics, composing their own music and creating concepts for their own music videos, in which they participate in directing.

Mamamoo members hardly lack opportunities for exposure. It is one of the few groups in kpop where each member is given almost equal exposure based on their skill set. This is great for them as a group so Mamamoo doesn’t turn into a Miss A/ 4minute caricature with only one successful member. I honestly wish more companies will promote their groups with the fairness that RBW shows Mamamoo

Reading knetizens comments under her articles I think it's better to not promote as visual... Especially since she's talented enough to get recognition for her singing not only face.

I'll just say, the members themself said in interview that they never had intention to appeal with visual, so they worked hard and trained their performance & skills instead.

RBW never designated Mamamoo member as visual to begin with. Their CEO/producer once said they prefer their artist to be that one who could have fun and brighten up on stage. He also said, he work well with singer who sing well. So yeah, guess visual never been their main priority to push...
