Korean Movies & TV Bashing Thread

V.M.

Recommended Posts

Just like the other bashing thread but for Actors, Actresses, MC's, Comedians, Variety shows, Dramas, Movies etc. I know people use the other thread for these but it would be nice to read some hate about these subjects without scrolling through ten pages everyday complaining about some random EXO boys latest haircut or "Apink are boring" etc.

One rule to the thread NO DEFENDING!!!!

I'll start.

I must admit I opened a bottle of champagne [ok beer] the day Boom got his dumbass banned from TV for betting. To me he comes across arrogant, racist, unfunny and annoying. He would always turn up on shows I liked where he was not needed as well like Dream Team 2. Where it was pretty obvious Lee Chang Myung hated him.

Or he would turn up on shows I was looking forward to, for example "Yey Invincible Youth is coming back for a new season. Oh wait Boom has been cast as an MC. For fucks sake."

Not looking forward to his return.

I don't think I've ever watched a good K-drama.

They all seem to follow the same story-telling structure and drag on for ages.

Eg. Two boys fall in love with a girl, then a sexual attraction between the boys are implied, the main guy is from America, the main girl is annoying as fuck, awkward no-action kiss happens, focus on the money-hungry parents for a while, the boss of the company is an evil dictator, have a shot of one of the main characters in public transport looking sad and lonely out the window at night, there's a party with some pointless dumb side characters, and don't forget the god-forsaken aegyo, etc.

BORING! -_-

korean movies are actually OK, it's the dramas and tv shows that make me go "ughhhh"

korean variety shows are like watching nickelodeon shows. the humor is just so.. ????? and honestly korean dramas the some of the worst dramas out there.

why are so many korean actors so awkward? Ive never seen a society so full of awkward people. Is it that there culture is so conservative the dont know how to let loose and act? yeesh.

Song jihyo is a bad actor. I love the girl but she's so bad.

Running man is getting dull. The past like 10 episodes have been so-so.

Im on ep 18 of YWCFTS and having a hard time moving forward. I only have like 3-4 episodes left but i cant. I liked it at first but the whole back and forth is getting old. Do manager needs to make up his freaking mind and quit playin around.

When it comes to Korean dramas, I never understand the hype some receive when they bring nothing new to the table. Heirs was just another drama about rich kids and it was a complete bore. I didn't think they could make a drama as bad as To The Beautiful You again but they proved me wrong.

You Who Came From The Stars dragged on for way too long. And that's another thing, korean drama writers do not seem to understand how to end a plot well, it's either rushed, dragged, or a giant mess of an ending. The only reason I stuck through it until the end was because of Cheon Song Yi, her character was very likeable and entertaining.

I wish 90% of korean dramas stopped following the same storytelling structure. No matter how creative or different they make it sound at first, you can bet they'll end up falling into the same old boring clichés most of the time.

I hate how tvN has become just like KBS/MBC/SBS, I used to like their dramas but now they feel sooo prepackaged idgi
