Nearly half of Justin Bieber's 40 million followers on Twitter are fake

With over 40 million followers, Justin Bieber is now officially the most followed person on Twitter. Behind him are big names such as Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and United States President Barack Obama.

 

The teenage pop singer used his official account to thank his fans for helping him become the only person in the world to have over 40 million followers. He ended his tweet with the hashtag #40MillionBeliebers.

 

However, according to Socialbakers, one of the top social media statistics platforms, nearly half of Bieber's current followers are either fake or inactive. Most of these accounts have never been used before, have less than one follower, or are following less than 50 accounts. 

 

Excluding such accounts, the teenage pop star's real following would equate to around 18 million. With the fact that just four years ago, he had only 40 Twitter followers, this is still a remarkable achievement and a reflection of his huge fanbase.

some fans have this weird thing of having 'saved accounts' too where they make like 26562 accounts of usernames they want to save for themselves which is just rly dumd why would you even do that

Yes, Justin Bieber opens up accounts to cheat.

 

It's his fans, not him. Hate how the media is making him look like. Fans are crazy and they don't even try to hide that they are capable of making 100 accounts for everything, in order to help their artists.

So if i don't follow 50+ my account is fake or inactive WTF!?

My account has never tweeted and only follows Britney Spears. Why am I fake when I get Tweets sent directly to my phone? You could say I'm inactive, but there's nothing fake about my account when I genuinely read all of the Tweets my phone gets.
