In my country, the male pays only if the woman isn't a working female. If she has a job, he doesn't need to pay her anything.

Personally, if I was married and we both had sustainable jobs, and then we got divorced and we still had those jobs, it'd be wrong for my husband to have to pay me some of his salary despite the fact I make a livable wage. Even if I wasn't employed but divorce was on the table, I'd probably try to get a job because what's stopping him from being petty and quitting his job and going to work somewhere that pays shit? And regardless, I still think it's kinda wrong to force him to give up money for someone who can take care of themself.
