Do you dislike it when people say they don't think they are cute/beautiful/handsome when they clearly are?

I know people have their own insecurities when it comes to beauty and it's subjective or maybe their just shy, but it irks me sometimes when I see beautiful people say that they aren't that cute/beautiful or handsome when they know clearly that many people think they are.

 

And it's not just limited to celebrities because I understand that they are also afraid to receive criticism if they admit they are beautiful because of those crazy netizens.

 

But what about people who aren't celebrities? Can't they just be honest?

Sometimes, cause there are people who clearly fish for compliments. 

Or the types of people who clearly see they are skinny, they point out that in some angles they are (they know it themselves too), and they still call themselves fat and ugly and refuse compliments, cause they once in a lifetime saw themselves in a bad angle and wow do they blow up if you tell them otherwise...Why do you get angry by me complimenting you? What someone sees in the mirror can be very different from everyone else. If they think they're ugly and see that they're ugly, then it doesn't matter if 100 people say they're attractive, they just won't believe it. Just how people can see their body distorted, they can see their face distorted too. You may see someone very beautiful, they may see a bridge troll

 

I do hate when it's just clear compliment fishing though, but you can usually tell when someone actually thinks that or not

it's just a matter of perspective for most people. even the ones i know who make a living being beautiful have a really frail perception of what they really look like, because all they get to see are heavily edited pictures of themselves with lots of makeup. and that's who people usually compliment, not what they look like at 6 am, barefaced on a coffee run.

Some people just genuinely don't see themselves the way others see them. Anyone can be insecure and have doubts about what other people say about them. People are just more critical of themselves than others (most of the time).

 

 

There are a bunch of people who just fish for compliments though.

There are many cases to this,

Firstly, there a people who are just seeking compliments from people, which is pathetic.

Secondly, there are those who genuinely think they're just average in terms of beauty no matter who many people will praise them, when they look at their reflections in the mirror they feel that there is nothing to be proud of, so it's like lying to them.
