We're talking about elementary students here so i dont think they know THAT much/that deep.  He's just probably frequently mentioned as a famous inventor during their lessons, hence the result.

Because it's easy take credit for other people's work. It's harder to put in work and be a self-taught genius like Nikola Tesla 

But kids usually aren't taught about Thomas Edison's sketchiness. At least not here in America.

I know but that doesn't change the facts her books were great and it's understandable that people want to be able to achieve as much as her.

I just wanted to justify the comment you quoted before. I get why kids see her as a role model because she became successful due to her writing. It's just kind of upsetting how her success is making people overlook her disappointing words/mindset. But if people want to continue to support her regardless of her supporting someone who was accused of abusing his wife because they like her books, then idk to each their own.
