What is wrong with this playing card?

I'm trying to make playing cards for Kard, but the design doesn't look quite right to me and I can't figure out why. I tried removing the gray glow on the white frame but that just made it look like an MS Paint job. 

 

Any suggestions? It's driving me nuts

Can we see what it looks like without any gray shadows?

Maybe use thicker borders around the suit and K? 1px borders never look good.

 

Also, maybe you don't need to remove the shadow, but it is a bit overpowering, especially around the edges and around the 'K.'

I kept a little on the suit so the K+club border didn't blend into the white

It looks slightly better. I think making the shadows less harsh helped a lot.
