I waited 4 months to be rejected from the job I really wanted...

I have 6+ months experience as an Intern at that job, and I was very good at it, but because the job is based in the public sector, their recruitment campaign is a bitch.

They want to make it "fair for everyone" so they only base it on my interview answers and assessment. I don't think I did too badly, but it was harder than the first time I applied (whilst I was an intern, I got rejected then)

Their whole recruitment took almost 4 months (and they were recruiting nationally, so it wasn't just one position)

I just feel really rubbish because I tried hard to prepare, and I was so worried about it.

Also... I wanted to also come back for personal reasons, there is this guy I really like, but it looks like I won't see him again.

I'm suffering from depression because nothing seems to go right for me.

I lost two family members this year as well.

Ugh. I just want 2017 to end.

I'm sorry that you didn't get the position... they say that when one door closes another one opens and that things have a way of working out for the best but if I was upset I know hearing people tell me those things wouldn't help me feel better. At least you can say that you put your mind toward something and worked for it, win or lose you did your best and you do get something out of it even if it doesn't feel like it, with each step you work towards becoming a better and possibly more well rounded person so maybe you'll be better prepared to handle this next time, or maybe be better prepared to handle another situation that leads to a good opportunity. Honestly there are a lot of people out there who try their best and somehow don't get demotivated by life, I don't understand it personally... but one thing you have going for you definitely is that you put your best foot forward and that's not something everyone can say... I know I sure can't. : (

Thanks... it just sucks because I don't know what they were expecting... the assessment was basically 6 pages (pretty much exam style) of questions, which we had to complete in only 45 minutes. Not even the private businesses have that.

It's ok

They don't realize how good of a worker they let go <3
