With Candy Pop, Twice ties the number of comebacks WG had in their lifetime

Candy Pop, Twice's 2nd Japanese single, Twice will tie the number of comebacks Wonder Girls had in 10 years: 9.

 

Twice also surpassed the number of comebacks Miss A ever had (8).

 

Clueless new Kpop fans often say Jyp is always overworking its idol groups, that it's their reputation but actually it's the exact opposite. Jyp's girl groups used to have 2 comebacks in the first years before going on long hiatuses. It's only with Twice that Jyp is putting out a lot of comebacks and content.

 

Wonder Girls and Miss A deserved better but I'm glad Jyp is learning from their mistakes and managing Twice properly.

Japanese promos are light with 2-3 performance stages, 4-5 interviews and a bunch of photoshoots so it's not hard on them. As for Korean promotions, saved for Signal they barely went on variety shows and only promoted on music shows which made their schedule less hectic. Tbh they seemed a lot more tired in 2016 when they were appearing everyday on TV to promote CU and TT. Also they had some breaks and vacations in between promos this year and most of the stuffs they released were already recorded in advance months ago.

Working 8 to 12 hours in a regular job almost every day is also tiring but people still do it, at least idols get to have long rests when they establish themselves.

 

Twice members have been getting plenty of rest btw, different from other groups they never faint on stage or show tiredness in their work so I'm sure they are being taken care of.

I really don't care what their exact peak is at this point. Twice is going to keep growing and have their dome tour most likely in 2019. 

 

Four songs yes. 2 in Korea. 2 in Japan. That isn't that hard. Japan promotions are extremely easy to do. No doubt if Twice has longevity and a fandom in Japan, they'll comeback Twice a year in both Korean and Japan.

There's still a lot, though.

Promotions are never light even if they aren't appearing on TV everyday. They still have to practice the new choreography for hours, and photoshoots are actually exhausting. Hours of getting makeup done, hours of getting hair styling, and then yeah the photos themselves don't take too long but it takes hours to finish especially with big groups. 

They also have to shoot music videos which can be draining because it must be done to perfection. And of course, performing itself is extremely stressful because they need to look perfect and can't mess up any of the dance, it is all super stressful physically and mentally. 

 

Jeongyeon was even falling asleep while standing up the other day....

 

Honestly I love them and all the content but I hope JYP doesn't repeat it. I've barely heard of any group doing this many comebacks in one year, 4 Korean comebacks and 2 Japanese comebacks is just an insane amount for 1 year, they need to take it slower or the girls really will end up overworked.

 

Not to mention recording the actual albums as well as CF work and V-lives (which are fun but still draining for them). 

 

Overall, I love that JYP is properly giving them comebacks, they're doing so well but they are also really young girls, let's not forget that they are still young. As a student, my job is less physically draining than theirs and yet I am exhausted, can't imagine what girls my age in these extremely fast-paced and stressful jobs must feel like.
