If you are sick of cute gg concepts and want more sexy ones than you don't have to wait any longer imo

So I saw a thread today where everyone said that 2012-2014 was the sexy concept girl group era and how everyone misses the sexy concepts today with all those cutesy stuff etc

 

The problem is that the groups that did that like Secret, T-ara, Miss A, Fiestar, Dalshabet, 9muses, Girls Day , AOA etc were already established groups and no more rookies

Of course no group lasts forever so of course they become inactive after years

 

Now we have this new generation that just debuted and they are of course at the beginning cute because a) there are still minors in most of the groups b) it's easier to attract the Korean fans which was proved

 

They are also going to get more mature and I am 100% sure that from 2018 there will be a lot of change in the concepts and 2019 will be a full max sexy concept era like 2014 was for example

We just have to wait a bit more, I'm putting my biggest hopes in CLC, Weki Meki, Pristin and DIA next year to start that trend !!!!

 

That's something like a circle, 4 years cute concept rule, 4 years sexy and everyone has something out of it

 

Most of the groups like Dalshabet, Secret, SNSD etc debuted with cutesy stuff and look how sexy they became later on so trust me the new generation is going to slay

 

The only problem is in the fans haha, I remember in 2014 everyone was saying that most of the groups are to slutty and we need more cute stuff, now people say the opposite and that's also a never ending circle but what can I do.. :')

 

Ps. The best would be if Twice would turn sexy and hit daebak then everyone would try to follow the trend and cute would be gone for a long time (this comes from a non Once btw)

People don't care about concept, they just want them (especially Twice to do it) because

1. it's easier to flop in that concept digital wise

2. it would decrease their impact/sales so that their other faves can shine too considering Twice's domination in the girl group scene. 

 

I don't see any Once complaining about this yet ifans/antis/casual listeners are constantly raising their voice about the matter even tho Tzuyu and Chaeng are not even adult yet. Make me realize that they want Twice to flop so bad that this is the only thing they can do (after disliking their mv is not helping at all apparently)

Some of the groups you mentioned didnt debut with a cute concept... I dont think it has that much to do with being rookies, its just the image the companies are going for because its popular

Exactly they want Twice to get a sexy concept so their favs with a cute concept can rise,they aint slick.

People can like whatever they want but it gets bothersome when they're complaining about certain concepts and wanting for a group to change direction for their liking and not appreciating from what it is.

I love sexy concepts but unfortunately it comes with a lot of slut shaming so you know if cute wants to stay on trend and keep people from being bashed for simply owning their sexuality in a way that SK views as bad, I'm cool w it.

I'm pretty vocal about wanting a concept shift as a Once but that's bc I think we've had enough concepts for some of the cuter girls to shine and I think the vocals of 6/9 of the girls will shine more with a different concept. Something with a lower register that allows them to utilize their softer or huskier voices would be a cool change imo, which usually means sexier concepts in the kpop world. 

 

However, there's a huge difference in sexy and sultry imo and the latter would fit them better in this case

Many group are going into the sexy concept because :

- other concept they tried didn't get the success they wanted (they would stick on it)

- members aren't underage anymore

- some members want to try it

- or their company is shitty enough to force them to do it

 

But it's hard to not flop it. Some strong group who did it well didn't get great achievement they desserve like Bestie, Stellar, Dalshabet or 9Muses. So it's more for 2nd or 3rd tier group than best seller ones.

 

One of the best and worst sexy song at the same time I know is 4 Ladies - Move. Their company pushed them too much into this concept and they disbanded after that. Stellar is another example of too much pression from the company so the MV are bad.
