Article: G-Dragon's USB to be acknowledged as an album on 'Gaon Chart' starting 2018

1. [+464, -29] The problem was never that it was a USB but the fact that it didn't contain digital songs but just a download link

2. [+429, -25] An album is only an album if it contains music, how can a link be considered music?

3. [+394, -23] There have been artists before GD who released USB albums but they were never a problem because they contained digital songs. GD's only has a link which is why it's controversial.

4. [+24, -1] So can artists now release pieces of paper with a download link on them and have it be acknowledged as albums? ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

5. [+24, -2] How can this be considered an album when the music is basically gone if the link is dead?

6. [+15, -2] GD, just put the music files in the USB

7. [+15, -5] They really don't understand the point of the issue, this USB is really just an empty shell

8. [+14, -4] Why even make it a USB if you're just going to put a link on it? Make it a floppy disk ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

1. [+1,634, -308] Wow GD hyung's class, he's changing up the rules

2. [+1,440, -192] Who even buys CDs anymore

3. [+1,277, -205] It should've been acknowledged as an albunm all along... Gaon needs to keep up with the times

4. [+852, -171] Love you GD hyung

5. [+275, -33] Only now ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ at least GD is changing the rules

6. [+253, -31] Gaon was the only chart that didn't acknowledge it and they were so stubborn about it too. What's it matter what an album looks like as long as it has music?

7. [+244, -36] Doesn't matter, doesn't change the fact that it's an amazing album

8. [+231, -30] GD eventually got it in his favor

I agree with nate comments. What he's releasing is basically a digital album. How far up his ass do you have to be to not get the difference? lmao I do hope YG does release a dry ass white T-shirt with only the link on it for fans and charge those dumb fans $30 dollars. Even then they still wouldn't get a clue and only blame you for "hating oppar!"

I never got this controversy. If it's the cost of a physical album then why not count it as a physical album? Fan feelings aside, physicals on the charts are basically a measure of how willing people are to dish out a bunch of money to get a nice collector's object along with the songs they could've downloaded digitally for a third of the price. GD's USB fits that ticket pretty well if you ask me.

cos ppl are stubborn, trying so hard to be edgy or smart when even hanteo counts it as physical from day 1  especially silly kpop fans still pushing it even after gaon already bow down. like they really think their opinions weighs more than the chart institution itself

Well this is the main reason of the whole controversy. I'am not hating the idea of album in USB form anyway.

Real talk here, if they sell album in CD form and that CD only contain link to download content, that would be a problem too?

Well that album is lit is a fact.
