Rick Sanchez 440
I have seen a lot of people saying their good-byes and trying to cope with everything that happened, and while reading those beautiful messages I realized that almost all of them came from a religious background, there is nothing wrong with that on the contrary I actually really liked reading all of them, but it made me think about all of us that are not religious and how would we say our good-byes. And here it is my version of an eulogy and a good-bye that was deeply inspired by Aaron Freeman. Our bodies are made of star stuff, all the elements of your body were made in the crucibles of stars that spilled their guts into the universe as they died, and some of those elements find their way in to us, and assemble for a brief time to make up a human body. The energy that is in us; comes from the universe around us; from our sun and the cosmos. The same energy that created the “Big Bang†billions of years ago, and the sunlight that warms your face today, have all come from the universe that we are but a tiny part of. The first law of thermodynamics in short; states that no energy gets created in the universe, and none is destroyed, it can only change shape and form, but will continue on forever. This means that every BTU of heat produced by Jonghyun, every small breeze created from his movement and calorie he burned is still here in the energy around us. Jonghyun's energy was borrowed from the universe; He used it and have now passed it on in a different form; but it will never go away. We have absorbed some of his body heat, felt the breeze as he walked by, some of his energy has been absorbed and lives in those around him. All the photons that ever bounced off his face, all the particles whose paths were interrupted by his smile, by the touch of his hair, hundreds of trillions of particles, have raced off like children, their ways forever changed by him. All the photons that bounced from him were gathered in the particle detectors that are the eyes of those watching him, those photons created within our constellations of electromagnetically charged neurons whose energy will go on forever. Much of all our energy is given off as heat and the warmth that flowed through him in life is still here, still part of all that we are, even as we who mourn continue the heat of our own lives. We do not need to have faith that he is still here, scientists have measured precisely the conservation of energy and found it accurate, verifiable and consistent across space and time. So, it is a scientific fact that his energy is still around. According to the law of the conservation of energy, not a bit of him is gone; he's just less orderly. shineerox 2,063
This was lovely. I hope this will help atheist fans cope and heal (not that non-atheist fans can't enjoy this as well, but lots of people saying he's "in a good place" to someone who might not believe in it might be a little exhausting)
