1. [+3,566] Zhang Yixing figured all of the press there were Chinese, asking in Korean may be troubling for the Chinese media, Zhang Yixing is considerate, I hope all of you do not read too much into it

2. [+2,055] Hmm... most of the people there couldn't understand Korean, Zhang Yixing did great  ee808e.pngee808e.pngee808e.png

3. [+1,583] There must have been something wrong with that reporter  moren_feijie_org.pngmoren_feijie_org.png

It's a good thing Yixing is quick witted.

4. [+1,353] Our domineering China sheep! hearta_org.gif

5. [+1,421] They get cursed out by Koreans for speaking Chinese at the MAMA awards! Now you won't speak Chinese in China! And you have the gull to ask for an answer in Korean! Sister! Have you taken a look at what ground you're standing on? numav2_org.gif

6. [+931] In fact, look at the reactions, you can see that the two sisters are a bit inexperienced, Yixing and Jiaer (Jackson) know what to do, difference in character

7. [+794] I don't know whether or not he was actually disgruntled, but most of the people on stage and in the audience could not understand Korean, he's just looking out for everyone there

8. [+728] Most people there don't understand Korean so he made the request for a translation even though a few of the mentors could understand Korean, his EQ and IQ are quite high

9. [+615] The two sisters have just debuted so they will gravitate towards South Korea, they don't really have any choice but to act, it has been a while since Yixing has debuted and has gone through it..... the cub has grown up and is now a senior...

10. [+605]  It was out of courtesy and attention to the staff at the scene, do not read too much into it

Why does he look so unhappy? Is this a serious press conference? Aren't they talking about the show?

I don't think it was rude to expect she speak the appropriate language considering she's in China.  However, it was a bit off putting how he wasn't making eye contact and was looking away while she was talking as if she wasn't talking to him as well and he didn't know what she was saying.

Only a while ago when EXO just debuted, Yixing would look like the blur one among all of the EXO members. How much he had grew to become big brother now.. Looking forward to Yixing and this show (I loved PD101S2, it's hard for me to think if China can emulate the quality of the show. Nevertheless, the success of the group coming out from this is almost guaranteed.)

If I am not mistaken this is the Q&A session after the proper press conference.

Lay does know Korean and probably he just and simply did want somebody to translate for Chinese reporters what the Korean reporter's questions. Maybe his brain froze when the Korean words came out.

There are three Chinese people beside him who know Korean and can do translation to Chinese if the opportunity arised..

I must share one thought and say that I think Cheng Xiao is so much more comfortable in Korean than Yixing is nowadays and she is in SK since 2014 if I'm not mistaken.

If you want to know the truth?

In many occasions, people like Kris, Lay, Tao, and Jackson have all expressed that at the end of the day, they want to promote Chinese music (rather than Korean).

Deep down, all of them have the ambition of becoming the next Lee Soo Man, JYP, Yang Hyun-suk of C-pop.

he was being considerate to the people who don't know the language there. It's not the first time either. During EXACT press conference in korea last year , a chinese reporter asked him a question directly in chinese and he tried to translate in korean and then answered both in chinese and korean. It is nothing beyond that, some people take it as a heroic act of patriotism he is only being considerate here.

and is there anything wrong with that? being ambitious and having dreams?

obviously they want to work for the advancement of pop culture in their own country instead of seeing more chinese trainees going to a foreign country which is 200% tougher and demanding.

Have they really all expressed that?  Particularly Jackson.  He's said he'd rather do Chinese music than Korean?

They want to bring South Korean's music styles, models, methods, systems, networks and eveythting else into China.

They would not be able to do anything in China if they did not go into South Korea and KPOP in the first place. They needed South Korea and KPOP for their own personal, physical, artistic and musical development. They needed South Korea and KPOP as tremendously powerful kickstarts.

Kris have said many times he hated KPOP and his time in South Korea. The others I don't know. I guess Tao must have said. Luhan have always given the impression of liking South Korea and KPOP. Lay is making his way out of KPOP and South Korea slowly and have said Chinese music in it's all forms are his true passions.  Jackson is still working in South Korea doing KPOP and have said his solo music in China is his passion.

And your point is? Did they sell their lives to kpop?

They are not obligated to be "mere" kpop idols forever. They are not obligated to like their lives and career even if they signed the contracts.

Even it they breach contracts, they get legally sued. And pay for it. That is the penalty they get. They suffer for their decisions. And that should be the end of it.

There is no moral obligation involved here. And people should stop shaming kpop idols who don't want to be kpop idols anymore or have bigger dreams than being in the background of all groups.

About the Chinese idols, they started as kpop idols, but now that they are in the position of being able to influence and make a difference or try to do something about their own country's entertainment industry, I don't think it's an insult to kpop. Rather it's their own... Roots speaking to them.

Plus I don't think Kris and luhan and Tao completely owe their huge careers to SM. SM was the Kickstart, but in the end they were the only people working hard for themselves. Lee Soo Man wasn't the one cracking his bones practicing for hours. He gave them a platform, people loved them, they left and paid their dues, and people still love them. End of story.

Why the hell you made an essay and putting words into my post i did not say.

I'm supportive of their solo careers and solo activities. I don't know where did you get that I am against their solo decisions in China. I've said countless times that they would not have have achieved anything they have have achieved if being in KPOP. Jackson is still in KPOP and the only one I can see doing all things while still being in KPOP. I must repeat and say that I am supportive of their solo careers.

It's crazy to say SM did not help to build up them as idols. They needed SM's skills and training. They needed to go though all the hardships they have chosen to go through when they came into KPOP and South Korea. All these things helped them.

They could have go to China in the first place instead of going to South Korea and suffer so much.

Now they are free and very highly succesful in China. Be happy.

Just to to put wood into your fire. They did not go to China in the first place to try out their luck and skills because they did not had any.
