Would you like to see mixed teams in sports?

A conversation in another thread made me wonder about this.

I would like to see mixed teams when it comes to sports and e sports.

I remember that there was a girl that was really good ad soccer and since there wasn't an all female team that represented our village (or others for that matter) so she was able to play with them and compete.

That was the only mixed team that existed where I'm from.

What are the pros and cons? Are all female teams and all male teams better when it comes to being competitive and in terms of balance of skilsl?

I wouldn't watch a football game of a mixed team tbh. Whether people like it or not most female equivalents of sports are practiced at a much lower level than the male ones, so I think it would be boring. But I certainly wouldn't stop people from going the mixed route.

There are some sports in which mixed teams could actually be a good idea, but in some other sports, one gender might be worse off than the other, for reasons related to human biology. However, this problem would become a non-issue if there was an equal number of men and women on the field at all times, for both teams.

The point that I was trying to make was if they are on the same level of skill then the female would be able to compete (see the example I posted) and I wasn't specifically talking about professional/popular teams but I think it would be nice to see a team that represents, for example, a school that is mixed.

Interesting point. I guess it's just more balanced in terms of skills/better to compete against their own gender.
