Shinee (/ˈʃaɪn/ SHY-neeKorean: 샤ì´ë‹ˆ; Japanese: シャイニー; stylized as SHINee) is a South Korean boy group formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2008. The group is composed of four members: OnewKeyMinho and Taemin. Originally consisting of five members, they became a group of four following the death of Jonghyun on December 18, 2017.

Seeing this on wiki officially did it.

This entire weekend after randomly listening to Shinee and his songs. Then this morning, the sky was pitch dark, completely unusual for the time I head out. I was listening to Lonely, Breathe (Lee Hi), and Elevator, while walking to campus. 3 periods in, I find out about his death on a kakao gc. I thought it was a joke.. I wished and hoped and prayed he was just unconsciously feverently. Next period, guess what my quiz and class discussion was on? Carbon Monoxide. Everything after that went downhill. A hardcore shawol and 10 year stan I know was devastated and tried to commit suicide today. Before some troll yells out "overdramatic" or "bs", you have to realize that Shinee is quite an upbeat group. Jonghyun always helped depressed people and advocating to them through the radio. So how do you react when your own role model, who helped save you, die without any intervention?

I'm still worried about Onew (previous Milk Club member), Minho (fainted), Key, and Taemin. He was a brother to them. I'm worried about his family members and close ones. I'm worried about Shawols and even all other kpop fans. I hope everyone is stable.

Tonight, this one of the many candles lit up in honor of you. I hope you can see the  lights from a better place. You are an amazing everything, and you will be sorely missed. Know that you were enough, and you always will be. I promise I will remember, my bias. RIP, Jonghyun.

When someone you admire or is close to you dies I think you need to honor him/her by remembering all the positive ways that person impacted your life. I'm sure his bandmates must be feeling the worst and if someone already was going through depression this can only make it worse but there's a chance they will seek out for help, or be reached by others, precisely because of how he died. In this type of event people tend to come closer and reach out for help.
