I get Financial aid and you can get scholarships. Doctors go into more debt then anyone and they make the most money. It is worth it in the end imo. Im going for teaching and we know they get paid crap. Go for a job you know youd want and enjoy and not one that just makes the most money.

Have you explored all the potential job options you have with your major? It might help to speak to an advisor at your university to ask. There could be a potential job opportunity that you don't know of or haven't heard of.

Agreed. However, alot of doctors go into so much debt that it takes several years to pay it off. And they dont usually pay it off until you are 40+. Its just too much in my opinion. To me, i'm not even sure if it is worth it in the end unless its your dream job haha. But yes, go for a job you would actually enjoy or atleast is tolerable for you.

Depends on what degree you want to go into tbh. There are degrees that get good jobs but of course, there are some where it is really difficult to find a job with (like art)

Tbh yeah:imstupid: like no offence to anyone with a history degree or smth but... unless you're SUPER passionate it's probably not worth it

my mom's a house-wife and my dad's a lawyer

Dude, both my parents work, my mom teaches and my dad’s an engineer (my dad’s full time and my mom’s part time but she owns the place) and we have a nice car and house but that’s it lol.

I’ve low key considered law, some branches have srs money in them and it actually seems like a pretty fun job, but I’d never be able to be on call.

You’re from Mexico right? (Saw you mention it in another thread lol)

This is why I’m not going to college lol. Trade school here I come.

what are you taking?

I laugh at the people that spend 30k+ a year on private art or film colleges . Sure classes help improve your fundamentals, but talent is what matters, not some degree.

This makes me ohdearplz.png  I mean having talent matters, it gives you an advantage and probably saves you sooo much money but there are some people who are not born with it (like me) but is still passionate in that field so they have to pay for it.

Hey, talent isn’t something you’re born with, it’s acquired. Passion is smth you’re born with.

Lucky for me the fields I’m most interested in don’t need degrees lol. I’m into beauty, I want to go to cosmetology school or get an apprenticeship and eventually own a salon. I’m also considering realty tho.

What’s your major?

yeah i'm from mexico. and i'm considering law too since i know i'll be good at it, and you can make a lot of money but its not as easy as it sounds.

my dad (like any person who has gotten to the highest rank in his office) had to endure the overwork the recruits/2nd ranks have to go through. he says kids now a days expect everything to be given to them in the new 5 years and that's not how it works. getting to a higher rank is pretty simple = not quitting, but only around 10% move on to 2nd rank :/

it took him over 15 years to start earning what he earns now.

And that’s exactly why I could never do law, it seems interesting but it’s also expensive, time consuming and probably pretty emotionally draining.

On the flip side, my mom’s friend was a divorce lawyer and she loved it but she made barely anything lol.

No. Some people value their actual education over the the common financial outcome of their degrees and that's OK. Also, there is no degree that will actually stop you from going into a lucrative career if you play it right. Like it's not because you majored in Art History that you can't do anything else.
