2013 Rookie Sales Thread

NOTE: I won't be using the $.003 with the DAs to determine sales as that is not an accurate amount after the 1st of the year with the price changes for digital songs. If we ever figure out what the current value is, I will update it then. For now I will just rank using the DA every week.

Yoo Jiae is doing pretty well considering her song had no promotion other than one little online interview. I think this bodes well for the girl group. It's apparent there is some public interest there... I expect she'll drop off the chart by week 4 though. There are way too many new releases for her to stay charting much longer.

Roy Kim is incredible, not surprising though at all. He's the Busker Busker of 2013. Lol.

Nice to see History have a pretty good jump up the chart on their 2nd week. I'm hoping for them to do better than Speed. They also charted this week at #13 on the album chart. not too bad.

There's something not right with Delight selling more physical copies than Ladies' Code. They're flops compared to Ladies' Code tbh.

Yeah I don't get that at all. Lol.

the difference of 4 hundreds is not even that big.....

and for a group from Leon, the number of History is really bad

It's their first boygroup, right?  Though aren't they supposed to be a vocal group?  Looks like SK still isn't interested (in combination with their digital), though they at least charted... 3 weeks.  Won't make it to week 4.

Too bad for IU's scandal, or they might have been able to use her to help History along...

even groups from nugu company are doing better

the fact that they are a vocal group, not the typical idol group should give them some advantages

plus one of their labelmate is IU,a national sister

No boygroups from nugu companies are, though. XD  As a vocal group, look how much better they are doing than all of those!!!  Speed doesn't count; I do think of them as 2013 rookies but they still have been in the process of debuting for 2 years now and CCM is not small either.  And like I said, IU had her scandal and hasn't had her musical comeback yet, so I'm guessing they didn't spam her in their music video or anything either.

I think it will be interesting to compare them to Nega's boygroup... LC9?  I don't know what day History or LC9 dropped their singles, but their placements have been 117-73-171; LC9's first week was 123.

(Also, I don't know that being a vocal group usually helps with physical sales... 2AM's album sales aren't that great compared to how they can do digitally.  Kind of like a girlgroup, in that sense. XD )

my mistake, but compared to what 2012 rookies did last year, you get what i mean

it doesn't matter if Leon spams IU into their promotion or not,the fact that they belong to same company as IU,Gain, and Sunny Hill should give some good advantages over other nugus

i was actually talking the digital sales,2AM's strong point has always been digital sales, and groups like Noel,4Men are ballad groups that do pretty well on digital charts, and most of the time, better than most idol boy groups

Well, as one can see from Ladies' Code being the only remotely successful rookie to date, 2013 is even more dire than 2012 was for rookies.  Whatever being from a mid-to-large company did for boygroups last year seems to have largely expired.  (I don't think any major boygroups are due out this year, right?  Woollim, YG, WM (?) are all supposedly going with girlgroups.)  And given Nu'est, I wouldn't say being from a mid-sized company did much for them beyond the initial boost if they couldn't grab onto a bit of public recognition quickly... or maybe the public really only had the attention to spare for b.a.p. >.>  Everyone else has to stumble along and luck out (Vixx, C-Clown).

I want Ladies' Code to have a comeback... and Spica! XD  We already know how HV's doing....
