let me start by saying pls be civil. the word flop gets tossed around a lot especially at new or unknown groups. i just don't get it though. i mean if i was a new group and sold upwards of 15,000 albums for debut i'd be ecstatic. the word gets used a lot in reference to ioi groups who's sales range anywhere from 15,000 to 40,000. even if one is less than the other i don't really think that means it's a flop. obviously not everyone can be twice and sell upwards of 100,000 albums. just some word vomit for you.

edit: since apparently y'all can't behave yourselves. don't use my thread as an excuse to start fanwars.

I guess it just means if they didn't do as good as expected.

Flop is just a word anti's throw around to put down an entertainers accomplishments.  Sometimes it's used because that entertainer is seen as a threat, sometimes it's because people just don't like that artist.

It's just another word people use to put down one person to praise another one.

There is a FLOP SONG or FLOP GROUP.

Flop songs is = no good response (even from fans)

Flop groups is = no relevant (nugu in the big picture of the Kpop Stage)

flop is literally just 'failing at something'. its just that ppl like to use that term in the same level as irrelevant and whatnot but nope.

like taeyang's album didnt do well on the domestic charts so it flopped. but that doesnt make him irrelevant cos his solo tour for that album was successful. and 4 months after that album was released, ahjummas (for example) who dgaf about sales chart still recognize him
