could any of you kind souls show this helpless noob how to add Multiple Audio Layers in imovie??

I tried to drag the additional file down below the main audio layer, but it doesn't work bc the new file will just jump onto the main layer, in front of the existing audio file (don't even know if this makes sense) OTL

can someone please help me??

i've seen that video, but it was made 5 years ago and imovie doesn't work like that anymore

when i try to drag the new audio file onto my timeline, it doesn't create another layer for that file, instead the new file will just write over the existing file, and instead of having 2 files playing at the same time, I still only have 1
