Awhile back I got into an argument with one over a male idol not apologizing on broadcast for accidentally brushing against a female idols waist during a live mc portion of inkigayo. It was really so weird I was like this is really the hill you want to die on. Like if someone does something or says something actually misogynistic go ahead drag them. But 90% of the time it’s not misogynistic and it just blows my mind that this is what these types of feminists focus on. Yoonability 4,159 Posted December 10, 2017 Share Posted December 10, 2017 Some people definitely go a mile too far but I mean, Korea is a heavily sexist society (like most societies lmao) so I don't think it's weird people tend to be a little sensitive about these issues, especially when you have kpop idols actively encouraging that society sometimes and people brushing it off like that's normal because they're Korean. It may be normal to them, but that doesn't necessarily make it right and there are many Korean people who are critical of those aspects of their society as well. We NEED to see how much sexism we face during our daily routine and this doesn't stop us from seeing bigger problems. Like everyone shit on feminists bc oh they only care about first world women problems but don't even see how many of them also fight for other things. As someone from 3rd world country you can't imagine how important these stuff for me to come across to, how much they educate me and widen my world view.
