We can debate "why didn't they do this earlier" all we want, we can't change the past but I'm glad they are starting to move now.

Reputation is everything to celebrities and the false rumors and blatant hate that goes around is ridiculous. People always seem to forget that the idols that they are hating on are people with actual feelings and can come across their posts. So I'm glad they are going the extra step to protect their idols now.

EXO received the most hate in 2013/2014/2015, not "only now". and SM did nothing, the hate is still going till this year. and they are suing for all their artists not only EXO.

Yep, that hate also got his dad's restaurant closed. That shit they are suing is more serious than "I don't like _____ music", they are suing for defamation (ie accusing idols of rape, bullying and other slanderous shit) and bastard threatening the idols and thier families (since thier families were also the targets too). It's for all performers in the company. The hate has gotten out of hand and every SM pro former has gotten hate and SM is doing something about it.

I heard that exo-l were gonna protest outside sum store for sm to sue antis (edit: apparently they filled a permit letter to do so), that might have been a factor, but obv if they did it solely for exo they would have still done this years ago.

 

Exo-l have been collecting evidence and sending it to sm for years, but recently so many kexo-l got doxxed and exo was also getting their private info leaked, receiving threats and getting their faces pasted on funeral pics so exo-l were very insistent about suing lately, and so sm might have finally listened.
