On Online identity, and the Internet

Recommended Posts

Thank you for addressing this finally. Its horrible what happened and I would like to make sure there is as little chance possible for it happening in the future.

I also hope there is a way to be more prepared to deal with things like this more effectively in the future, I feel as though we should all take what happened as an important lesson on how we use the internet. Its just sad it had to be taught this way.

i thought so too, but another user told me there might've been a second one but they weren't sure. it'd be so random though cause i think that user's main and chantage's main got into some sort of argument that lead to...that

I wasn't here for the doxxing(thankfully), but it's nasty what some people do

Can Sadmin pls implement a safety filter for links. Someone could easily set up a hacking link that you can click on and the hacker starts from there. The one who was doxxed clearly stated they didn't share any of their personal info with anyone on here but they could've been tricked into something like that just like what happens on Twitter.

It was actually fine for the first few months I joined (Jan-May)

After that it became pretty bad imo

I'm not sure how OH was before I joined though

onehallyu was chill(er) in 2016 but it crashed a LOT and then there was this huge crash and the server went down for over a month and after that not all users came back and some users joined and it was just...a different vibe i guess

If youre ever suspicious of a link, you can run it through this site to check for any malware. :)

Yeah, I tried to join OH during the time it crashed.  I kept thinking there was something wrong with my Internet and that's why I couldn't access the site.

It feels like OH really changed when August came.  A lot of new users were coming in and so-on.

I don't see most of the people I saw when I first joined :o

Thanks this definitely helps.

People should be more careful especially when clicking on shortened urls. Some urls are easily bugged. I've seen someone in the 18+ section post a link directing to a site filled with malware and I reported it.

i think it has to do with fandoms too. now a days, most onces stay in the main thread while before they were the most active fandom in the recent section. it happened the other way around with armys. most exo-ls migrated to aeriverse and a lot of fans of smaller groups also got annoyed and left.

Honestly i blame the lack of variety in fandoms, it feels like most users here is either a once, an army or an exo-l and even as a once, that's not fun at all to me

nvm seems they were, that's good. i kept hearing different numbers on how many ppl were doxxed. ppl rly take things too far, its sad that the little things you share w ppl on the internet in trust can be used to reveal more about you than what you wanted. where's the fun in making ppl fear their safety?

I never really thought about it, but yeah it seems there's a lack of variety.

I've noticed there's a lot of fans for other groups, but like you said with Onces, they tend to stay within their fave's threads
