K-pop is exploding in 2017, and change is in the wind for the industry, with many older acts falling by the wayside as newer artists move in to the scene. With growing interest in the States, many younger Korean acts have sought out the U.S. market this year, and few have been as proactive about it as SF9.

A nine-member boy band that released its first EP last year, the group has spent much of the second half of 2017 focusing on America’s K-pop audience, hitting up both East and West Coast KCON events and even holding a tour in November that had the band performing in Dallas, Seattle and Boston.

The first dance-oriented male act from FNC Entertainment, known primarily for pop bands like CNBLUE and FTISLAND and the girl group AOA, the nonet is a rising K-pop act. Their approach to sleekly produced K-pop and highly stylized choreography has made SF9 one of the rookie groups to watch this year, landing three of their EPs in the top 10 of the World Albums chart since February.

During their Stateside Be My Fantasy tour last month, the nine members of SF9 took time to open up about their latest album, Knights of the Sun and its diverse inspirations and how their career has changed over the past year. Above, watch the Billboard exclusive video, courtesy of SubKulture Entertainment.
