One of the Bloggers I follow put together a Popularity Ranking for the members of Last Idol Family. They based this on the number of Twitter Followers, and how many sell outs the members have had at Hand Shake Meetings. The Blogger doesn't offer any stats, but I was looking up these numbers myself around the end of Jan., and the rankings match up with what I found out. Nothing seems to have changed since then. I've included translations of the Bloggers comments.

Popularity Ranking

Part 1

#10. Yasuda Airi

BRkTOQjA_400x400.jpg

I can't imagine 10th place with such an Adult appearance.

Yasuda is popular with her natural remarks.

Twitter Followers and Hand Shake Meetings are popular.

It's well balanced.

#9 - Kiyohara Rio

E4fIioyA_400x400.jpg?w=300

No. 9 is an overwhelmingly pretty girl.

Since Season 2 began, her sorrowful tears and frustration after failing to win

has aroused sympathy from many people.

#8. Matsumoto Momona

z4i-6svZ_400x400.jpg?w=300

The Beret she wore in her first appearance left a lasting impression.

It is said that her Unit, Chou Cream Rockets, is the most popular, and she serves as the Center.

It's no exaggeration to say that she was born to be an Idol.

She has allot of potential.

#7. Ishikawa Natsumi

4WzUxrxB_400x400.jpg?w=300

Ishikawa is a former Underground Idol who boasts a certain level of popularity.

She cultivated the ability to shrink the distance between fans in those days.

She's popular at Handshake Meetings, and regularly updates Videos and SNS.

In Season 2, Ishikawa cut her hair. I support Love Cocchi's breakthrough.

#6. Ozawa Aimi

o7U7U6Qw_400x400.jpg?w=300

6th place is Last Idol Family's Sister Character, Ozawa Aimi.

She was an Interim Member early in Season 1,

but had to give up her seat with much regret.

She has an innocent smile which cheers up many people.

Popularity Ranking

Part 2

#5. Abe Natsumi

9QACimd0_400x400.jpg?w=300

5th place is last Idol's Abe Natsumi who is absolutely a Center.

In the early days of Last Idol, she beat original Center, Majima Wakana, and it was amazing!

Only Abe can create the atmosphere of Last Idol. I'm pulling for the group.

Abe served as the Center for the memorable first Single.

The lyrics to Bandwagon echo in my heart!

#4. Nishimura Honoka

QbdL1_Z1_400x400.jpg?w=300

4th is Last Idol Family's oldest member, Nishimura Nonoka.

The number of Twitter Followers is overwhelming.

It is the highest in the Family at over 36,000.

Her popularity on SNS is secure among older men.

In Season 2 of Last Idol, thanks to Tsunku,

Nishimura's usual Adult-like image has changed to reveal her cute face.

#3. Koga Yako

RjB8hJRf_400x400.jpg?w=300

3rd place is Koga Yako who is not only popular among males, but also females.

With a mature visual and beauty, there is an overwhelming longing from women.

She joined in the middle of Season 1.

Her warm and welcoming appearance is impressive.

#2. Yoshizaki Aya

vrnGAL-_400x400.jpg?w=300

2nd Place is similar to Koga in that her face has a high level of beauty.

Yoshizaki's character is that of an Older Sister

She has already done allot of personal work,

and her popularity inside and outside of Last Idol is also high.

Her Twitter Followers are high, but her popularity at Handshake Meetings is even higher.

There is no doubt about her place at No. 2.

#1. Nagatsuki Midori

E0OpvfYV_400x400.jpg?w=300

(*The Blogger almost writes an essay on Midori XD)

No. 1 is the only concurrent Unit member,

CCR and Last Idol's Nagatsuki Midori.

At Handshake Meetings, there is always a member who has one more frame than all the others,

and it sells out immediately.

Her popularity requires no explanation. She has an outstanding presence.

In Season 1, she was forced to give up her position due to a Judgement.

This Judgement caused a great flame on the 'net.

Then Nagatsuki came back in the 2nd Unit, Chou Cream Rockets, and allot of people were happy.

After a member withdrew from last Idol, Nagatsuki came back.

This concurrent post is important,

and I will continue to support this figure.

I'm not surprised at the Rankings. This is pretty much the conclusion I came to over a month ago. Last Idol still has the most popular members and CCR is the most popular of the 2nd Unit Groups. A few of my own brief comments about each member:

10. Airi - I thought she would be more popular. Making it into the top 10 isn't bad considering there's 26 members in LIF. She is on the lower end of Reservations at Handshake Meetings, so her placement is about right.

9. Natsumi - Her popularity definitely increased after she was made W Center with Wakana. She overtook Waka in Twitter Followers and is pretty much the most popular member of Samu Samu. I always see comments that she's cute.

8. Momona - This placement feels about right. Last time I checked, CCR was the only group who's member's Twitter Followers are all over 10k. Her Reservations at Handshake Meetings are in the middle of the pack and she's always complimented on her looks.

7. Ishikawa - She has a hardcore following because of her time in Akishibu Project. Her Twitter Followers seemed on the low end last time I checked, but her Handshake Reservations can be high depending on the location.

6. Aimi - I'm not sure why she would be ranked slightly higher than Momona, but it doesn't really matter. Her Handshake Reservations and Twitter Followers are about the same as Momona's.

5. Abe - Personally, I would switch her with Honoka. She's recognized as the best and most natural Center in LIF and her Twitter Followers and Handshake Reservations have increased steadily.

4. Honoka - Due the sudden popularity of her Tik Tok videos, her Twitter Followers skyrocketed. However, I don't know if I'd place her this high because she was on the lower end of Handshake Reservations last time I checked. I'm surprised she's only popular with men. I would have thought women would really like her sense of humor.

3. Yako - This is the perfect rank for her. Very high on Handshake Reservations and she does well with the Photo Sessions as well. I knew her beauty would make her popular. Her Twitter Followers are pretty high too.

2. Aya - Nothing much to say here. Her rank is perfect. Second highest number of Twitter Followers in Last Idol, she has high Handshake Reservations, and does very well with the Photo Shoots.

1. Midori - Still the undisputed Queen. Had the most Twitter Followers of anyone in Last Idol for a brief time until Honoka passed her. She's currently in 2nd place by a wide margin. I think she was also the first one to cross 10k Followers. She does incredibly well with Handshake Reservations, and like the Blogger pointed out, usually has the most frames. She usually has the most frames for the Photo Sessions too. Her personality and charm really seems to resonate with fans. Not much else to say.

Some notable absences:

- Wakana is nowhere to be seen. I feel so bad for her. She definitely has something, but I don't think she knows how to harness it. She seems to have this desperation to prove herself. I don't see her popularity increasing unless something unforeseen happens.

- Not a single member of Good Tears made it into the Top 10. Every other group had at least one. They were the first 2nd Unit group, yet they've failed to connect more with fans. The 2nd Season really did them dirty.

(*I collected my own data on Member's Twitter Followers and Handshake Reservations, and posted them a page or two back)

While checking to see what Abe's group Pax Puella is up to, I found this recent fancam. It looks like a raffle that took place after the groups performed live. Midori is there too.

Pax Puella have actually performed without Abe several times this year, but they just released a new Single on March 9th, so I guess she's back to help promote it. Maybe her ankle injury was the reason she couldn't perform with them, and it wasn't a conflict with Last Idol. I couldn't find a PV for it, so hopefully a live version will pop up.

Edit: It has to do will some kind of Boat Race. No idea why Idols are performing though.

And there's a Midori one too! This is the first fancam I've found of her after she started doing solo perfs this year. It looks like a collab with the group Dan te Lion. And they perform BiS's Nerve!!! ahmagahplz.png

Last Idol Family are going to be guests at the Kansai Collection Fashion Show on 3/21. Usually, a couple members of the groups that perform also get to walk the runway. Since the groups in LIF are currently Battling for the Title Track on the 2nd Single, naturally they would do the same here. The arena of Battle would be Showroom Lives. The members with the Top 5 ranked Showrooms will get the opportunity to walk at the Kansai Collection.

o1280072014148564046.jpg?caw=800

I guess some of them were putting in long hours to get into the Top 5, even forgoing sleep. Once the Top 5 was decided, there was another Battle for the No. 1 rank. The rules are a little hard to understand. I think it involves buying an item with gold (Bears), and using it on a particular member's showroom. You build the Tokyo Tower with 10 Bears repeatedly. The whole thing is kind of confusing 5cF9Biq.png The blogger who I got the recap from thinks the whole system is too expensive, but it involves Idols, so people will spend money.

Sounds like it was a close Battle until the very end. Samu Samu's Rio and Love Cocchi's Honoka were neck and neck and traded the the No. 1 position several times. Fans were fighting hard over this. In the end, there was a huge reversal and Rio won! She was in tears.

o0773037714149895387.jpg?caw=800

It's so nice she won. She lost both of her Battles in the 1st Season of Last Idol, and Samu Samu have lost all 3 Battles so far in Season 2. She finally won something rlytearpls.png Here's a clip of Rio thanking fans:

The Blogger posted the final rankings. What was interesting is that none of the members of Last Idol were in the top 10. I honestly don't think they spend much time doing Showroom Lives. Seems like it's more for the 2nd Unit. Also, Aya didn't even compete because she had an event to attend. I don't think Midori participated either. I read this message a week ago:

"I don't really have a day off. It's often too late at night by the time I get home. Sorry."

I didn't know what she was referring too, so this clears that up.

The Top 5

1) Kiyohara Rio (Someday Somewhere)

2) Nishimura Honoka (Love Cocchi)

3) Ozawa Aimi (Chou Cream Rockets)

4) Aizawa Ruka (Good Tears)

5) Ishikawa Natsumi (Love Cocchi)

This list is interesting because allot of the less popular members of LIF ranked really high. I think this is a case where a small number of fans can make a huge impact. The Blogger states that if you did Showroom's consistently every day, you were naturally going to be ranked higher.

Sounds like there were allot of negative comments on 2ch/5ch. I'm not sure, but Honoka might have been considered a Villain. I think people really ripped into her, called her names, and criticized her tactics. Brutal. It's possible that they thought she was appealing too hard to fans to get the No. 1 rank considering that Love Cocchi is in the Tournament and Samu Samu is eliminated. Bascially, let Rio have this. It also sounds like, because of the Drama among fans who were trying to get their favs in the Top 5, some members don't want to do Showrooms anymore. All this over walking a runway smh...

In closing, the Bloggers brings up my biggest request; give Last Idol Family a Variety Show. They say the girls always seem to be Battling and crying, so let them just hang out and have fun with each other. I couldn't agree more.

Wakana singing the all the other group's songs except "Youth Symphony":

She has a pretty good voice. I think she just has a hard time when it come to live performances. Not every Idol can sing and dance at the same time. It could also be the pressure of the contest getting to her, so her voice gets shaky.

"Achoo!" probably suits her voice the best. Last Idol's "Wind Blows" is difficult to sing on your own. It keeps changing key, so it's no wonder the line distro is so varied among the members. Wakana's range is limited which makes it even harder.

*Bonus: Aya's press event for her 1st DVD!

Perf of Bandwagon:

Most of the 2nd Unit walking the runway, although Last Idol's Airi was there too. I thought only the Top 5 in the Showroom Battle got to walk the runway 5cF9Biq.png Maybe those 5 got to walk at a different time or the LIF staff decided to extend it to the Top 10 - 12 because the competition was so stressful for everyone.

^ having skimmed it via Google Translate, it's really just a brief mention about how Aki-p brought Tsunku into the program. Kind of an interesting read nonetheless.

I took a quick look myself. Yeah, it's more of his perspective on the Idol scene 20 yrs. ago. I wanted to leave it here as a reminder to do a proper translation since it slightly relates to Last Idol.

Just wanted to hop by and express my dissatisfaction with SomeSome's MV. Honestly, the worst one by LIF so far.

Honestly, they just got the short end of the stick this season: Sasshi's song is plain, and definitely worse than the ones she gives =LOVE, and now the directing of the MVs...

I saw Samu Samu's MV pop up in my recommendations today. After what happened in the last Ep of the show, it may be a while before I feel like watching it. And they released it right after the Popularity Poll came out. What perfect timing imstupid.pngThey started releasing the MVs before Season 1 was over too. One came out each week, and then the final 2 came out the week Bandwagon was released.

I think most of the groups got subpar material this Season. The only song to get an overwhelmingly positive response from fans is Tsunku's. I don't think they're necessarily bad songs, but they just come across as left overs that the Producers had lying around. Even though I like some of them, very few are be suitable to be the Title Track.

Looks like there issuing a box set version of the 2nd Single. I wonder why? Maybe this is for fans who don't plan to bulk buy.

So naturally, a bunch of articles came out over the weekend about CCR. This is a pretty sweet pic.

And here's the web version of the 2nd Single

choucreamrockets_jkt201804_WEB_fixw_640_

Nothing really of note. Just a rundown of which Type each group is on and spreading the word that Last Idol was renamed to LaLuce. It did confirm that the 3rd Season of the Survival Show will have the same format at the 1st.

I'm confused about Midori's Twitter. She has two accounts, one for personal use and one for Last Idol/CCR. Well, the one that's supposed to be for LIF only has 36 Followers. It used to have over 25k. It says she joined in March 2018 which is weird. Did the old one get suspended or something? What's even weirder is that I have her original LI/CCR Twitter saved in my favorites, but it still goes to this one. There's even a horribly pixelated pic for the banner. Ami and Momona's accounts haven't changed. What's the deal 5cF9Biq.png

On a side note, it's so weird to got to Last Idol's site and CCR is everywhere Last Idol was (I can't call them by that new name). The groups are still arranged in the same order though. Maybe it's not that easy to change.

Side by side comparison:

Sneezing compilation laugh.png

My god, someone actually figured out the reason for CCR's pose at the beginning of their perf. Their arms form a heart!
