I have a presentation tmmrw but im really nervous because i havent had to do a solo presentation yet this semester.

im mostly nervous because i know some of the audience will roll their eyes because the topic im presenting on is really boring compared to other student's and in another class where i have some of the same classmates there were two super long presentations on the same topic last week.

also this is the class i have pretty much have no friends in. im least comfortable in this class just because it seems way too cliquey where all the attractive people are all friends and make up half the class.

look over your powerpoint slides if you have them

know what you will say throughout

as always, look at the wall or imagine the audience are ducks. i usually think people don't pay attention or care when i present. but ya presenting is scary but after a minute passes, my nerves die down

Is there any particular reason why you're nervous? Like do you have any bad habits such as shakiness or sweat or forgetting what you have to say

i always am bad at presenting by myself.

i hate making eye contact, and easily lose my train of thought. i dont like using flash cards because they take up too much time to look at

Whatever you're presenting, you should feel and be confident in presenting it. That means you should know that info without having to rely heavily on a slide presentation or notes. Avoid using interjections such as "um" or "uh." When you need time to think, just pause and take that time to recollect your thoughts and what you want to say. It's good to have movements, but make sure those movements help illustrate your points. Like are the hand gestures you make helping to show some kind of importance or something to your presentation? If you are nervous, it really does help to practice and practice again so that you feel confident about it. If you really need help handling your nerves, chew on something or have mints in your mouth. I heard that actually somehow triggers something in you to believe you are safe or something. Make eye contact. If you are staring in only one place, it will feel like your talking to only one portion of the audience. Make sure you make eye contact with all sides of the room. You don't have to stare directly in people's eyes. You can stare above or below them or even imagine you are seeing something else instead of students in the classroom.

(Not to be arrogant, but I've won national best presentation on science olympiad before)

1. CONFIDENCE
2. CONFIDENCE

3. CONFIDENCE

^ To get that confidence you MUST master what you're going to present

4. LESS words, BIGGER font, MORE pictures

5. Smile and be interactive with the listener

Second this. Business is a boring subject mostly because what you said: there are lots of info. Read your materials once again, cut them into smaller parts. Also pay attention to how you deliver your speech.

You can look at the teacher, they have a way of offering the moral support that no else can. You can also look above heads or at foreheads or look at a specific point.

I used cards in middle school because I was always afraid of losing my thread of tought, but one day I just ditched them. I think it really depends on how much you know your subject and your confidence level bc sometimes flash cards just hold you back in a lot of ways.

If you feel like you are better off with the flash cards then maybe write as little as possible on them and follow your talking points with your thumb.

Also talking at a good pace. Some people can go on "auto-pilot" and whiz through their presentation, but sometimes that can make you to lose your train of thought.

Hey I wish you luck op! I have stage fright, so presenting for me has always been a hassle. Just don't think about what your classmates think and more about yourself. You'll do well and don't forget, it's for your grade(Ah-ha!) smile.png
