the reason why this song deserves to win SOTY is that:

 

WINNER were treated really badly by YG completely ignored in 2015 after doing soo well during debut, after finally coming back in 2016 ( on hiatus for over 1 and a half years) they lost a member and went back on hiatus they have been through soo much but they never gave up,

WINNERS 3 year journey

( survival show -----> an incredibly successful debut----> hiatus-----> first ever comeback 1.6 years after debut------> lost a member then they went on hiatus again for over a year-------> and finally this year they had a comeback and things have gotten a lot better for them)

 

everyone thought WINNER would flop and disband but they released RR which was composed by KSY, it did soo well on the charts even though they were going against digital monsters like IU ZICO Taeyeon, GP forgot them and lost a lot of fans

 

after 8 months its still charting on melon top 100 selling around 20k digitals a week and over 1million streams 

 

it is also THE BEST SELLING KPOP GROUP SONG OF 2017 

 

RR will also hit 100 million streams, I think that will make them the first Kpop BG to hit 100 million streams 

 

 

the song was covered by soo many groups and celebrities even yoo jaesuk was obsessed with it

even though im disappointed with these award shows and WINNER deserved better, this year was definitely their best year and im soo proud of them for never giving up

Idk about Song of the Year but it's certainly one of the top songs, and I don't think anyone saw it coming after the issues they went through with a hiatus and a member leaving

What hurts me more is that RR wasn't even nomined to win...seriously, I can't understand why.

 

Anyway, there are lots of awards shows coming and I'm sure we'll get that daesang! We didn't gave up when YG treated Winner and Incles like shit, this is nothing compared to how that shitty company treated them, let's keep fighting!

I still remember people saying they wouldn't reach 1M dls because of their first week sales and here we are the longevity has been amazing and they will become the first boy group of their generation to have a song with 100M streams.

I'm really annoyed that they didn't win or weren't even nominated - not to throw shade but some of the nominees didn't acheive anything WINNER had and still got nominated
