The AKB48 stage in MAMA Japan (with K-Pop girls dancing with them) has nearly 1.5M views already...I'm shook

I just decided to view MAMA Japan videos while preparing my heart for tonight's perfs & after seeing all perfs it is the most viewed at 1.4M (about to hit 1.5M)

The only perf which seemed to have more views than them is Twice, but that group is a Youtube powerhouse & the difference isn't that huge. With their overseas popularity & Youtube power, you'd think Twice would have a huge headstart against them since MAMA stages are so anticipated...

It just made me imagine what happens if AKB actually allowed Youtube content freely with subs like K-Pop za5g21G.png  Granted my faves already graduated...

I mean it probably helps that they were performing alongside the IOI girls.

Could always do with more AKB content being more accessible, but that would require them doing something that's actually consumer friendly idontthinksobetchplz.png

Well... Nothing against but... They actually release their MVs on YT like half of a year after their actual release date (at best) when all fans already saw it, still manage to get milions views, also their 240p performances are getting milions views until taken down. So I dont think that new and easily accessible and hq video of them performing is getting views only because they were performing alongside not even half of Korean popular group.

The thing is, that should have been AKB48 stage. I don't get why AKB48 have to share the limelight. The same with BoA. While it can be argued that BoA collab is to fill up the stage with active trendy idols than back dancers. AKB48 is a big enough group to fill up the stage themselves.

They're missing a lot of members from I.O.I to call it Produce48. In fact, they even include girls from Idol School. Perhaps CJ E&M want to break into the Japan market. Nonetheless, I feel it is super inappropriate to the point of being a little disrespectful to AKB48.

produce48, so there is p 101 girls and there is akb48 on the stage.

akb sang their songs while our girls were dancing to it. how was it disrespectful? every collab should be disrespectful then.

AKB and IOI are not forming Produce48, they’re literally promoting the next P101 season that is a collab between AkiP and MNET. It’s AkiP who is trying to step into the Korean market. Where were you this past day...?

I don't follow Kpop as fervently, so I'm not up to date. Literally didn't know Produce48 is a thing coming soon, I thought it was simply an acronym kinda like BangTwice.

Edit: Nonetheless, I still think AKB48 should at least get 1 solo stage of their own song. With another 2 collab stages.

Girl it’s the other way around. I doubt AkiP wants a SMALL SHARE of MNET’s market when he has already large share of his business in Japan and other 48 group and their respective countries with the exception of China.

I'm surprised to see relevant girls like Matsui Jurina, Yukirin and pumpkin face. I quite enjoy this. I get to listen to their iconic old songs.

Actually Jurina is not there  But yes Yukirin is there, it surprised me too that they send a big name.
