That GC is mostly filled with girl group stans. I'm surprised with how big AKB was (especially around the late 2010s) that they never knew the group? I always thought a lot of current Kpop GG fans came from AKB stanning. I mean Heavy Rotation was everywhere years ago (when Acchan was queen). I actually don't know any current AKB girls since Mayuyu graduated and I haven't been following them for years. I was just surprised a lot of current kpop gg fans that have a prejudice that AKB is lame? I mean, sure they don't really do the sultry, sexy slay style Kpop girl groups do but 48g tends to be more nuanced that just plain cutesy. Just like how K-Pop boygroup stans might think Johnny's are lame but there's a reason why they're popular. This J-pop idol prejudice gotta stop. My Kpop GC is wildly looking where to watch AKBingo eps now & going through the discography. Damn, they're lucky 48G & Johnny's aren't huge in uploading their variety content (with subs) on Youtube. That place is a rabbithole I used to suffer so much in using hjsplit & direct downloads. Might be true that Jpop idol industry had a chance to be big if only they were internet friendly. I'm more shook that they're shook because I never thought Jpop (especially such a generic perf like Heavy Rotation & KFC) would appeal to your 2017 Kpop girlgroup stan lol. In general a lot of kpop fans think jpop is lame just because their performances aren't perfect and intense like kpop performances are. I hate their strict content, johnny could be super big with their variety show especially arashi especially when they did the cosplay interview, stupid lab experiment etc But nah, they had to make it super hard that it's like joining a secret society just to get the subbed video. Anyways I think kpop stan would be shook by just watching the original beginner pv, it's not always sunshine and cute lol.
