E3 doesn't officially start until next week, but Konami's press conference is tomorrow and this year is going to be a big year with two new consoles, so this seemed as good of a time as any to set up a thread. Discuss expectations for games, consoles, talk about rumors, etc.

i call bullshit on this.

 

the console KH team is working on Versus. So unless Versus has been  completed for a while, they are not nearly far along enough for KH3 to even talk about it. Even an announcement would be too unrealistic because they have to re-reveal Versus as FF15 first. Fans would already know that KH3 would be next after Versus gets released (if ever) but i don't think they would announce it so far in advanced like they did with Versus. I wouldn't expect word from KH3 until at least a year or 2 after Versus gets released.

Announcements out of Konami:

 

-Konami will release Dance Dance Revolution Classroom Edition in North America, for fitness programs across the country.

 

-They announced MLB Live Challenge, which combines fantasy mechanics and team management for iOS, with a teaser trailer set for E3. It's developed by the firm's San Francisco studio.

 

-Konami is developing slot machine games, which will be available to play at E3.

 

-PES 2014: a new game engine - the Fox Engine- created for the game, which offers total fluidity and added realism. Team morale will be influenced by home and away conditions, affecting player motivation and in turn abilities. More new features will be announced in the "near future".

 

-Metal Gear Solid 5: Race and revenge will be core themes of the game. Taking place in 1984, facial and vocal qualities of someone in their late 40s was needed to play Snake. Keifer Sutherland is that person. Sutherland says that even though he's not a gamer, he knew about the franchise before being offered the role. "I'm excited to be a part of it."

-Castlevania 2: Lords of Shadow 2: Lords of Shadow 2 will pick up from the epilogue seen at the end of the original. The story becomes "dark", even "cruel". Players will be able to freely explore the world without loading times. It also includes a free camera, which was a technical challenge. For the first time Castlevania will be set in the modern day, but Dracula's trademark castle will still remain and be the focal point of exploration. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 later this year.
