adda 9,200 Posted November 30, 2017 Share Posted November 30, 2017 my conclusion after watching MAMA Japan videos : I really don't like the stage in the center of the venue, the relation with the audience was odd. I prefer the Italian style, Elisabethan style but not arena style. Not sure if they told groups in advance about this ( it didn't look they did) , because all their choreographies should have been changed so that they can constantly interact with the audience, have different dance formations and not turn their back on half of them while performing. MAMA Japan wasn't spectacular and it's a pity since Japanese have good lighting engineers and scenographs. ( exo's exolution in japan and other concert they had were breathtaking, great production) When you say Japan you think of technology. From this point of view mama japan was lacking plus, as I said, the relation with the audience was odd. 6. [+20, -0] The ceremony itself was so boring, probably the worst it has ever been. I kept switching channels, none of the stages were memorable, it was all over the place... i'm not exactly sure about MAMA Japan, but i just figured in general that groups do in fact know how the stage is set in advance cause based on past performance for my bias group they managed to have their choreography be switched to suit what ever style the stage was. also totally agree with you about the the center of arena stage... my eye practically twitches every time I watch a KCON LA video because i can't think why someone thought doing a square stage in the middle of the arena would ever be a good idea Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
