I missed a class and I have no idea what my prof is asking for rip

design:

  • A single-sample z test

  • The following t tests:

    • A single-sample t test

    • A paired-samples t test

    • An independent samples t test

  • The following ANOVA tests:

    • Between groups

    • Within subjects

    • Two-way

For each, be sure to discuss participant selection, number of participants, and how each design is unique.  It needs to be clear as to why the best design for each study is the one you’ve selected.  If your study fits multiple designs, it will not be graded.

be sure to include the null and alternative hypotheses for each scenario.  Additionally, I've seen some groups explicitly state why they would use one particular statistics test over another to drive their point home (i.e., for this study, a researcher would use a one way within subjects ANOVA instead of between groups ANOVA because....).

She didnt give me the data or anything??

Hey! Which textbook are you using? We used Discovering Statistics Using SPSS, it's great and once you read the chapters you shouldn't have any problems. But you're right, it seems that she should have given you some studies for which you should choose the best methods and statistical models. E-mail her or your classmates.

Edit: otherwise, maybe you should look for examples that fit each design yourself.
