James Corden Lands First No. 1 on Top TV Personalities Social Media Ranking

 

 

Corden’s post-BTS social media bump scores him the No. 1 on the chart, which ranks the most popular TV personalities based on data from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus.

 

 

 

 

James Corden spends his first week at No. 1 on The Hollywood Reporter’s Top TV Personalities chart, shooting 10-1 on the ranking dated Nov. 29.

 

The Top TV Personalities chart is a ranking of the most popular TV personalities on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVPindex. The chart’s methodology blends social engagement on the platforms along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. TV personalities are defined here as performers primarily known for their appearances on their own TV series, including hosts of entertainment/news shows. The latest tracking week ended Nov. 21.

 

Corden — the host of CBS' The Late Late Show â€” previously peaked at No. 3, a spot first achieved on the Top TV Personalities chart dated June 21. He takes over No. 1 from The Real co-host Tamera Mowry, who drops to No. 6 after scoring her first week atop the chart.

Along with continued social media engagement on Twitter following BTS’ appearance on The Late Late Show on Nov. 14, Corden welcomed P!nk onto his show for the latest edition of Carpool Karaoke and tweeted congratulations to Niall Horan for scoring a win for new artist of the year at the American Music Awards Nov. 19, calling him a “legend.†In all, Corden earned 1.1 million Twitter likes, a 454 percent boost.
