This article tells us about how Kim Choon Su's well-regarded poem 'Flower' became an inspiration for the BTS' intro track "Serendipity" that was sung by Jimin.

Honestly, The start of this concept had so many people all ??? or angry or whatever, but when LY is done I think it'll all come together to form something beautiful. They're putting careful thought into it, I remember how Yoongi getting that phone call in the highlight reels was paired with the voiceover of how the happiest moments usher in sudden fear, something he's said about their success. They're telling a story of "love", but its the story of their path as well. I can't wait to see where this series goes.

Our new translator is awesome!

Her page have in detail translations and also she consults if there's a difference between her's and an official one!!

edit: However, Serendipity goes further. In the music video, the flower is not as soft as one would imagine. It’s in fact a cactus, and one of the lines say ‘We’ll bloom until we ache.’ The speaker has looked far enough into the future to recognise that there will be pain in this love. It foreshadows a concept hinted at in Outro: Her, and delved into in the hidden tracks of the Skit and Sea. It will come into fruition in the sequel, the third in the series – ‘the turn’.]

^^I'm literally waiting for the third installment like crazy

So Serendipity really is written in the form of the feminine side of the psyche (which is why they were using gender neutral pronouns)? Interesting.

not really.

it actually means that in the past it was only men who loved first and women who had to receive or decline men's feelings.

but in Serendipity, it's the male singer who answers HER (woman's) feelings. it's not a request for love, but a response.

and i think it's a big deal for eastern women. they just recently started to show their emotions and pursue their love.

i'm russian but i live in an asian country so i a little bit know about eastern women's situation

sorry for my broken english ))))

The poem for those interested-

The Flower by Kim Chun-soo (1922-2004)

Before I called her name,

she was nothing

more than a gesture.

When I called her name,

she came to me

and became a flower.

Like I called her name,

will someone please call my name

that suits my light and fragrance?

I, too, long to come to her

and become her flower.

We all long to be something.

You, to me, and I, to you,

long to become a gaze that won’t be forgotten.

꽃/김춘수

I see or I should say I feel the essence of poetry in some of their lyrics, I don't always remember the Korean poetry I've read but when you read some of their lyrics, you can feel similarities, an openess and willingness to explore, that yiu find in poetry but you don't see in songs.

your theory is good too but it's important to note that the song is gender-neutral. hence, if someone wants to have a theory that the lyrics are written from a feminine point of psyche, or it's he's responding to a call made by another male -- it's all valid too. that's the beauty of the lyrics, all theories work. :)

I am asian, I think I'd know better what the situation is in asia. And this article literally states that it's the woman responding to the man's request for love.
