struggles of being not a very new but not a very old kpop fan

Well..

I got into kpop around the beginning of 2014.

And the first group that I started to love was f(x). I loved red light..it was such a beautiful mv...and ofc I still do.

So I slowly started to stan f(x) and after that, I got into EXO and then 2NE1, SNSD, SHINEE and many other 2nd gen groups. (and also some 1st or early 2nd gen groups like SUJU..and yeah EXO is actually is a 3rd gen group.)

But after several months....

Kris and Luhan (my bias in EXO) left.. following Tao. and Jessica also left SNSD....rlytearpls.png

And after a while, the 2nd gen groups slowly started to get inactive. Not to mention that Sulli also left f(x).............

At least some of them still had a comeback....

but now most of them are slowly starting to disband and some of them already did...But I wish the best for them.

they would all probably disband one day...they are humans so they can't do everything for fans...they will get tired one day... But the groups will always be missed.

And ofc there are groups that still exist even after a very long time and I am glad that they do. As long as they are happy.

Anyways..this is how I struggled.

Am I the only one who had such a bad timing?

Also yes i had a bad timing too, got into kpop around march of 2015 but didnt discover Wonder Girls until their Why So Lonely comeback around July of 2016 and i barely had a year to be with them, Sunmi became my ultimate bias and im very happy that she keeps releasing music at least rlytearpls.png

I left Kpop when all the second gens were still really popular and were very active. Mainly due to SNSD and Kara not releasing as much and having much group promotions, etc. Then I came back awhile later and BAM, I didn't recognise half the groups that were currently promoting. I came back to learning about the mess all the second gen groups were going through with the member drop outs, all the scandals, the disbandments. rlytearpls.png

I wouldn't have stuck around if my current bias hadn't dragged me back in.

I had really bad timing too, I got into kpop in April 2015 and Sulli left f(x) in August of that year, so I never even got to witness an f(5) comeback rlytearpls.png rlytearpls.png

I feel you...rlytearpls.png

I'm '08, so I have been through this a lot. It is sad, but you always have your good memories.

Woah that was quite a long time. Yes there are a lot of good and bad memories.

I might be wrong. It might have also been in the beginning on the 2nd gen. I will edit that.

I see. That must be hard...rlytearpls.png

I agree. Gashina is awesome btw.

I see that's sad. I knew about kpop but I never got into it until 2014.

I might have reacted the same if Amber would leave the group at that time since she is my UB. ;-;

yeah i started listening to kpop in 2013 and got into the fandoms in 2014. So its been sad seeing the groups i love leaving. 2ne1 was my favorite girl group and shinee was my fave boy group. I got lucky with shinee, but everything that went down with 2ne1 still makes me really sad.

Luckily for me though, I never had a problem with getting into the new gen groups. I like all kpop, from the 1st gen to the current trend groups. So I was able to move on pretty easily

I got into kpop around the same time. I fell in love with EXO...and then Kris left. Then just as I decided Luhan was my bias....he left. Then Tao became a co-bias with Lay. Three guesses what happened.

And Lay became my ultimate bias. Now I’m dealing with all this mess.

I am destined to suffer.
