Saint Ren 4,272 Posted November 24, 2017 Share Posted November 24, 2017 I know there’s always some arguments over years etc but most people tend to agree that 2011/ 2012 was the start of the 3rd Generation of Kpop groups, so Exo, BTS, Block B, Twice, GFrend, Mamamoo, Monsta X, RV, Day 6, Got 7, IKon, BAP, SVT, Winner are all 3rd gen. Now I’m wondering if the 4th Generation has already begun. I think to me personally, 4th Gen kicked off in 2016 so NCT, Black Pink, IOI, KARD, ACE, Wanna One, WJSN, Pristin, Astro, Weki Meki, Stray Kids, Astro etc are all 4th gen. What do you guys think? Doc Noir 1,220 Posted November 24, 2017 Share Posted November 24, 2017 They don’t, they’ve all been roughly the same. 1st Gen: 1996-2001 = 5 Years. 2nd Gen: 2002 - 2005 = 3 Years. 3rd Geb: 2006 - 2011 = 5 Years. 4th Gen: 2011 - 2016 = 5 Years. Somehow 3rd gen never lived it's fullest moments until late 3rd gen which is BlackPink and Red Velvet and Twice. __________ It is already New Generation now, which is TRCNG, Stray Kids, and IN2IT, and maybe new YG boygroup, new YG girlgroup, and all new debut.
