I personally didn't, but I have friends that did.

They already got accepted to a college and asked for a gap year so that when they come back they already know what to do. They did internships with large companies to get some background.

r u planning on going back to uni/college?

Yes

The reason I didn't do well is because I had very bad depression but now I have it managed and I'm going to go back in the fall

What course did you do?

I was taking a lot of Biology courses cause that was my major

if so what did u do during that one year? rlytearpls.png asking for me

I took 5 years off and worked at various places, I also needed time to figure out what I want to do with my life. I believe that I found my true calling even though it has nothing to do with my major. I left very out of place when I went to college because I was 23 when I started college. I was the oldest in all my classes and initial thought bubble was "I need to get the fuck outta here" cause I left like I was back in HS with all the bullshit and drama going on with people straight outta high school.

no but i wish i did. or at least a semester off to gain my bearings. making the choice to do it depends on a lot of things but make sure you have a plan for the time you take off. i know my lil brother is kind of like me school-wise so im going to recommend him to take a year off, i've been helping him plan internships and shit.

I started right away but dropped after 3 months. It was just such a big shock for me. My HS was full of different people and I felt really at place (It was a school full of minorities just like myself), but not many of them went to university and just went to community college. I went to the nearest University and mannnn that uni is hella known to be full of rich kids, kinda snobbish, all the way up in that sorority life. I felt awful there because I just couldnt relate to my classmates so I decided to quit and find another uni. It also didnt help that everyone disliked what I was studying so they really made me doubt my choice.

I took a year off, I had two jobs and just saved some money. I eventually used that money to go abroad in one of my years in uni.

Funny thing is, I went to the same uni and did the same major. I didnt regret quitting tho, it really helped me sort everything out. And I wouldnt have met my best friend in class if I didnt drop out

were they paid internships?

No, it was moreso unpaid interships to harbor good feelings with the company. It was Bloomberg.

But because she did end up doing it, they hired her the next year and paid for her college tuituion. Before she went to college, she set herself for a job for life.

When will I ever. TT

no i went straight to college after HS since I was in a good standing in HS with my grades and was accepted to decent colleges. make sure you do plan on your future and major if you don't take a gap year so you don't fall behind. if you are undeclared, take some classes that might spark an interest in college. gl to your decision!
