What do you think of hardcore stans who get depressed bc their bias isn't on top?

They should take a break from stanning. Anything that toxic isn't good for their mental health

Honestly sometimes there are fans who make it seem like it's only about popularity that they forget to appreciate the whole group and it takes away the fun of being part of the fandom and it creates a division within individual stans

this is so true especially with all the different rankings nowadays

For some fans, I think it’s less about the ranking itself and more about the meaning they get from if; which is that their faves are not being appreciated enough. I guess that’s what makes them sad

While that certainly is a factor, BTS fandom is huge so even the less popular members have A LOT of fans and there isn't really a shortage of appreciation tbh. But most of them will go on for days about how x didn't rank higher than x in fancam views for example or number of followers on melon. A lot of fanbases update these individual rankings and sadly it goes over some fans heads

they really need to take a break from Kpop if it affects them THAT much. It won't be healthy for them in the long run if it's to the point of being depressed/upset the whole dayl. All things are temporary, no one can expect to have their kpop idols on top 24/7, and if they think their idols will, they'll be really disappointed.

I didn’t know you were talking about armys specifically. But even with BTS, you can tell that there’s a pretty significant difference between the popularity of their maknae line and hyung line ( except Suga). Popularity might not matter when you’re a part of a group that’s popular but it will make a world of difference in success when idols start their solo activities.

I used to be that type of fan and it was a toxic time that would always give me headaches. I found that taking a break from kpop was the best solution and strongly advice that to those who still have this mentality. Just remember that k-pop is not something that should be taken seriously. It's just music at the end of the day and you like what you like.

This!! I really agree with this.... I was just on a particular group thread and some user was complaining about their fav not being appreciated on this site and in the international fandom in general and how other members were more popular.. and posts about them got more likes( I was just thinking in my mind... like really we gonna count onehallyu likes now as a measure of popularity. Lmao) ...also saying they found it unfair blah blah... I don’t know it just rubbed me off the wrong way cause it had me thinking this user will not be satisfied unless their fav outshines all the other members in all categories... they are in the same group why can’t they just be happy for every one else’s success... the users post probably worked for others but for me rather than earning my pity for their fav it even made me for a bit want to dislike their fav... but I corrected my thoughts real quick( still like all the members) I see what you mean by it could unknowingly cause a rift between fandoms
