Do you use your phone until you can't use it anymore?

Few weeks ago, my cousin wants to change to iPhone but he's been fine using his current one for 3 years. My mom and his relatives berate him for changing phone while I have been using my current phone for 5 years.

What do you think?

Yeah, even my current phone is in a bad condition. but this shit was expensive so I'm not gonna buy a new one till it's reduced to dust lol

Yes. I change it only if it stops working.

True, with the prices rising every moment. It's better to keep using until the current phone finally had it's last breath.

Even after that I opt for phones less than 1000

3 years seems a very reasonable period to change your phone, although if you plan on to keeping for that long to a phone you want a really good one. A new iphone should hold pretty well and truth is nobody uses their phones to their full potential, the upgrades are incremental and even a 3 year old iphone should stack well for today's use.

I change phones everytime I renew my phone plan, so that happens every 18 months. After that period my phones are usually in very good condition and I end up giving them to my sister most of the time, as she always loses them or breaks them, sometimes I sell them but currently I have an extra one for spare but might as well just sell as I never lose them nor break them.

Yeah, I think so.

I got my current one nearly a year ago because my old one was really slow, kept freezing and wouldn't charge properly. Technically the old one was functional but I could barely do anything and it was always a struggle for me to use it so it was very impractical. I'm planning to use this one until it's unusable. New phones don't tempt me.
