Instead of going to the AMAs afterparty, BTS went to a random BBQ place & celebrated with each other

There’s not much of a story to tell but I thought it would be fun for y’all to hear about. My roommate’s friend works at a kbbq place in LA and they came in at 10 pm (her shift ended at 9 but she was meeting other people there), she tried to cook the bbq for them but they wouldn’t let her. Another of her friends who went to the AMAs tried to buy them soju but they didn’t let her either.

Anyways I hope they had a really fun time hanging out with each other afterwards and tbh I’m kinda glad they spent time together instead of going to wild parties (even though imagining the interactions with other artists is pretty entertaining)

Seems kinda stupid decision as they could have made some good connections in that after party.

TBH this week probably overwhelmed them a bit & they needed a bit of a pause, and they still have an upcoming Ellen filming. Alesso, Zedd, Marshmello connected with them too, Demi/Shawn Mendes connected too. People also forget BTS isn't really intending to have a full time US career, just that US is one of the markets they're targeting.

In their Vlive, except Jungkook the adrenaline bunny, they all looked exhausted. They have been on the grind since literally the day they landed. They have more schedules to come, so it makes sense.

Also, the amount of people who came up to them at the AMAs was probably satisfactory lol...(a LOT)

Edit: OP answered before me

They were probably pretty exhausted from the whole day and having to try to think, listen, and answer in another language is exhausting as well without the party atmosphere.

That’s pretty smart on their part, who knows what type of shit netizens would accuse them of if they went to the after party. BBQ is fun too lol. Plus what would they even do, it’s celebrities from a country they’re not familiar with and a language/culture they barely know.

All I see is a missed opportunity. There's a really big difference between working together and extending a relationship outside of work and getting to know people in a casual, very relaxed context. They were right to call it hwaeshik. From the personal experience of studying to work in a field where contacts matter and everyone at school knows everyone else, it can really hurt you to not go to those big events that everyone else attends. It took a lot of effort for me to make up for just hanging out with my close friends the first year of school. If you're not there to show people who you are and get to know them, then they end up forming their opinion of you based on second-hand information. The result usually doesn't benefit the absentee.

Anyway, it looked nice.

warms my heart. the fact that they decide to spend the rest of the night with fans (v-live) and with each other's company. i stan the right people

anyway, when you're exhausted in a foreign country and you have language barrier on top of that, what would you do in a place full of drunk people. it's smart to let things flow and build on connections one at a time.

tbh the fact that BTS decided to celebrate their performance in such a humble way, making it personal to Army's everywhere with a vlive before they had a nice meal means a lot more to me than them going to a party which they would struggle at (and could tarnish their reputation), as well as leaving a member behind as Jungkook can't drink yet in the US, with the possibility of extra connections

because it shows where BTS' true values lie and it was just so sweet

Thinking about it, that's pretty understandable, especially from their agency's point of view.

There must be some crazy sh*t happening in the AMAs afterparty and they probably don't want BTS to be involved in Hollywood's dirty world (probably lots of drugs and not so respectable people).

Also, it wouldn't be much enjoyable (quite stressful in fact) for the boys as they barely can speak any English - except RM, I know - and it would probably be overwhelming.

Somehow, I can imagine the boys being disappointed somehow not to go (maybe they aren't, maybe they are), but tbh, they're better off in a restaurant with good food and soju than at the afterparty.

Edit: also, I really don't think their agency cares about making more connections at the afterparty. They're more worried about preserving their boys for the Asian Market (and keep their image clean). Who knows how the netizens would have reacted to them going to the afterparty?

Actually, I don't know how I feel about BH keeping tabs on them sometimes (it's not just them I know, all the idols get the same treatment I suppose?). It's as annoying as it's reassuring, if you know what I mean...
