Although it's not a special accomplishment but I finally face my fear by sat on a plane rlytearpls.pngrlytearpls.png

Before that I fear of planes because of turbulence but I finally sat on one.

It was a very frightening yet exciting process for me. Before the plane take off, my mom told me to just face my fear.

When the plane took off, all I did was look at the window and tell myself that it's going to be ok.

Well what do you know, nothing happen except a bit of shaking.

I'm fine here in one piece, going to have birthday dinner with my mom laugh.png

Good job! I am afraid of planes even though I have endured several long haul flights from the US to Japan and back again. I haven't been on a plane in 18 years! (@_@)

One thing you can do for longer flights is talk to your mom about getting an anti anxiety medication. Something like Ativan will work right away and you can relax and enjoy the trip. There are few side effects and you won't become dependent on it, you can slowly replace scary thoughts and feelings with happy, positive memories and then you wont need the medicine anymore!

Do it if you feel comfortable and you think you're ready for it. Good luck and take safe risks smile.png

well it's a big step to move from less than hour flight to 10+ hour flight so I need time and courage to prepare

Thanks, you went to Japan for a trip before?

For the medication, my mom doesn't encourage me to take medication because she prefers something natural.

For future trips, I'll be trying to distract myself from scary thoughts ohbi.png

I'm sorry for being rude to ask this, but you are the one who can't get on planes and asked for help on the forum, right?

I'm so glad that you finally can take a flight safely! And happy (late) birthday! <3<3 I'm sure you can overcome the fear once again. Good luck la.gif
