Will there be a song as impactful as this song?

IMG_1819.JPG

1: There will be a song that can beat the impact of this song

2: Frankly speaking, it's not easy to beat this hit song

It has been 10 years but I still haven't seen any songs that hit as big as this song did.

-? There's a possibility..

-It won't be that easy since people aren't attracted to idols as much as they were back then..

-#2.. We're talking about 'Tell Me' here, it's not an easy thing to beat that song..

-I don't think there will be any idol groups that can beat the impact of this song..

-If by 'beat' here you mean having the song known and liked by everyone in South Korea, then I think it's kind of impossible to happen..

-Don't you think Cheer Up's impact was similar to Tell Me's..? You literally could hear the song played everywhere in our country..

-Hmm.. First of all, the generation has changed so it won't be that easy..

-I personally think Gee had a bigger impact than Tell Me, though..?

-I don't think anyone can beat the level that 'Tell Me' has reached in its era.. Cheer Up was indeed a big hit but Tell Me was just in another level..

-#1.. I feel like there will be a song that can beat the impact of Tell Me in the future..

-I remember how popular Tell Me was in its era.. Everyone knew the song, it was like a syndrome..

-I was like 'Of Course!!' and then hesitated a little bit because it's 'Tell Me' that we're talking about here..

-Tell Me is a legend..

It'll be legendary for people that were in their mid-late 10s onwards

but there a lot of people now that don't really know Tell Me or Gee, and will think that Cheer Up has had a bigger impact.

it's a matter of generations.

It just depends tbh. Imo, CU and Gee aren't close to Tell Me personally. Growing up I've heard lots of WG songs like Tell Me and Nobody, or Irony. So they have that hold on me that'll think no one can beat it

Tell Me is really THE Kpop song, it pretty much started all the trends, if you go back and look at the idol releases before it, they sound like 1st gen Kpop idols. Tell Me started the Kpop sound "identity" of 2nd gen idols.

delusional lol in korea tell me was the biggest if it wasnt for tell me gee would have never been created

Honey, I was there for the whole ride

Gee >>>>>

SNSD literally beat out SUJU at their peak (which is a pretty big deal btw) and became a priority for SM with it.

And if it wasn't for SNSD, TW wouldn't exist. Now move, salty JYP stan.

Wasn’t Gee song of the decade by Melon? There have been countless surveys for impactful idol group songs as well and Gee is always chosen as the #1 female idol group song. The only time I hear “Tell me above Gee†is random Nate Pann or instiz posts.

There’s a reason why even your fave group has covered Gee multiple times

Also, if it wasn’t for SNSD, TWICE would never exist. What’s the point of that? Lmao

the worst part is the song sucks

Hey! You take that back, it is a disco JAM and is why we have so many disco tracks in kpop to this day!!!11 lmao

I mean....I agree with other posters, I think it already has been surpassed by other songs according to multiple measures. It's just that kpop and hallyu as we know it was still sort of in its infancy back then so we remember songs that really helped hallyu gather more steam like this one.
