terrifiedwolves 571
we're all mixed at this point - well, mostly LOL, I wouldn't care about a person's race/ethnicity just as long as they don't act like pretentious little shits aka are polite

denizen mars 5,911
'White' is such a nebulous concept tho. Nowadays the US census bureau classifies Latino and middle eastern people as white. But once upon a time, Italian Americans weren't considered white.
mirurun 2,019
This video was entertaining somewhat but the black lady acting like identifying as white is a bad thing... girl
noodlenoodle 931
'White' is such a nebulous concept tho. Nowadays the US census bureau classifies Latino and middle eastern people as white. But once upon a time, Italian Americans weren't considered white. Is that true??? Unexpected, based on categorization questions on forms and stuff. Either way, I think that hard-to-define quality is kind of the point of the video. For example, the Sicilian guy an the half-white girl at the end — depending upon people’s different definitions or different definitons through time, a lot of these people could identify as either white or not, so self-identifying is what we’re left with. Especially with mixed race people (myself included).
noodlenoodle 931
entertainment I think it’s a bit more than that — it serves to point out that it isn’t always (for lack of better phrase) black and white. As someone who’s also ethnically ambiguous it was a cool video. WatchCut’s whole “people guess...†series seems a bit more probing than just entertainment. RiriWilliams 1,709
Lol I find this interesting as people tend to think I'm white or half white when I'm not.
puellarum generatio 3,628
"White" is very unclear because people don't think the same way about what's white and what's not. For example, hispanic is considered white in Europe but maybe not in the US. Latino is not a race btw. Latinos are generally either hispanic/white, black, natives or mixed.
