Japanese producer explains why Twice was invited to 'Kohaku Uta Gassen'

Bear in mind that Kohaku is the most prestigious year end ceremony in Japan averaging more than 40% ratings each year since its creation 68 years ago. You can only go on it if you're invited. To be invited on it is considered as the 2nd best accomplishment after selling out a Dome concert.

Also Sana became a singer after her and her grandmother were watching a program on TV and her grandmother wished she would appear on TV to sing (they were probably watching Kohaku). Jline's families must be so happy right now!

Congrats!!

See that haters. Your faves cant do a shit about it either. Just admit it Twice made a huge impact in Japan this year.

Expect more to come. Y'all butt hurts can't even see Twice's potential.

Just zip your asses and congratulate the Queens.

Notice that they made a note about "young people", which nobody every really denied. So...

So what if they're popular among youth. Pls explain to me the problem? Don't tell me that the J-expert is now trying to downgrade Kohaku? It doesn't change the fact that they were fucking invited to a prestigious year end show.

It has been 6 six years since a kpop act performed. TWICE are now among BoA, SNSD, TVXQ and KARA and that's a fact.

So this "young people" isn't part of the community itself? Are you high? You talking nonsense right now please.

Y'all think "young people" means overall, when it doesn't. Anyone who actually follows Kohaku knows that young people don't really watch it, hence why they got different acts this year to lure young people in.

People go on and on about TIWCE's popularity, but few, if any, make it known that their popularity lies in the youth, and not the overall public. I look very closely at what people say, and this is something I notice being glossed over.

Like I said before, if I wanted to shit on Kohaku, I would've done it years ago when NYC debuted. Or later when Sexy Zone debuted. Yes, they were invited. What is your point?

Thank you for telling me the history of Kohaku as if I haven't been watching it for over a decade.

I think we both agree that Kohaku is a prestigious year end show right? We get it TWICE are not popular lalala, they only appeal to the youth and they seem not important to you. To you, Kohaku, again such a prestigious show, considered as a life time achievement, are inviting TWICE to attract a negligible portion of viewers? Would they bother with TWICE if they didn't make an impact?

But again, if I take your word as truth and agree that TWICE are only invited to attract the youth, they're invited to a show with a 40% in rating to atttract more people. I find this amazing.
